I'm making a trench warfare map, and I was wondering if this would work.

Could a tank or AT gun shoot through the dirt and hit them?

I've had people fire through hills before though and do damage, so I don't know.

I've seen rounds be block by hills befor too. My suggestion is to make the burm infront of the tanks thicker and then lots of testing.

I seem to remember a tutorial on the Relic Wiki of how to make hills so that you can't shoot through them - you do this by placing a wall (or whichever object in the game that provides bullet proof cover) UNDER the hill, so you can't see it, but the game physics can, and hence nothign can shoot 'through' the ground, so to speak.

Trenches seem a little deep tbh, you should open up some relic maps and look at how they're set up.

Generally trenches are not really deep, infantry stick out with their shoulders.
(Unless you want to build a subway Wink.)

Keep it up though, I'd love to see some more skilled mappers at it asap.

Tongue Unkn0wn, that's not an actual trench, that's for armor to roll up on. It's a defensive position for them so it's hard to get hit by other armor or AT weaponry, but it is very open for artillery, which is the best way to counter it.

Yes, they can shoot through that. If it is calculated as a hit, it will go through it. If calculated a miss, it will go on its path, but the hill will block it.

Oh then, it'll go through the terrain.

Only way to prevent that is by placing/hiding indestructable walls in the terrain.
(In hills, etc)

Yeah, placing shot blocker entities in the hill will prevent this.
