i say we should ban them from the mod, if they cant play Farly they shouldn't play at all, this goes beyond simple bad sportsman ship this is abuse of an imperfect system. i cant believe that ppl like fldash and Akranadas would sit back and do nothing as these these, ugh this makes me sick

give them time, they need to research everyhting before they ever make a move .. its much more dangerous banning then you think, if you have even slight care of how things turn out afterwards.

they need to be sure of things, in todays day they can just work around to get back... i still think lodging actual relic complaints is the way to go as a community.

Maybe we should educate new players about votekicking on tutorials, introductions, etc. It may be poor sportsmanship, but it's also not very fun getting banned for something you never knew was bad.

i agree, and when i get back from vegas i'll even make a small blurb tutorial on it.. see what we can do to help those who are not obviously abusing it.

o they knew watch the replay. its fine if they want to research first but i don't want to see a few pricks ruin the mod. personally i think this is one of the best mods out there, but if it starts turning in to a ,o i am losing lets drop the other team, type of game i don't know what i will do.

i have a high view of the EIR community, and to see this coming from one of our own is just unsettling.

You are responsible for your connection.  While kicking maybe frowned upon, it's certainly not against the rules.
if two players are lagging, 1 on each team, often teh lag is between them, it comes down to which player is going to hit kick first, which sounds lame to me.

yea we could educate new players but this instance these players are not new and know the communitys attitude towards votekick yet they still abuse it

***** Actually, I think EiR shouldn't do anything like banning to these people. From their perspective, its a lot of work, and a lot of covering your ass.

Think about how hard it is even to put up a "don't play with these guys" area. There is nothing stopping from someone creating a new account or a new CoH profile.

The best suggestion is to submit the complaint to relic. Since it is against their policy, let them deal with it. They have the power to actually ban the user, regardless of profile.

What EiR can do is educate its players on how to handle these situations. Give them a guide on what they need to do to gather proof and how to contact relic over it (perhaps even a synopsis of relic's policies).

The Dev's and Mod's here have enough on their hands. The community can handle this.

***** Brother G.

p.s. I find this behavior just despicable and I certainly wouldn't want to waste my precious game time playing someone who is out to cheat.

I figure if someone drops and you feel they didn't do it on purpose, offer the abandon. But don't vote kick people.

Taking this to Relic is an excellent idea.  I encourage everyone to do so.

As for our hand, we'll deal with it as best we can.

Please do take this to Relic.  All of you doing that will help out tremendously.

Just out of curiousity how are we supposed to send it to relic, since they need EIR to watch the replay. I have doubts this will go beyond a quick email check followed by a quick "thanks for the report"

Quote from: Buggo
“Drop-Hacking”, Lagging, Sync Errors, Disconnect Abuse, and other Game Exploits

Drop-hacking is a specific action taken by a player to manually disconnect from a game with the intention of acquiring a win illegitimately or avoiding a loss intentionally. This does not include using the in-game option to quit, or if your internet connection unintentionally drops. However, we will still be tracking trust for players who appear to drop often, regardless of the method used to drop. This also includes players using artificial lag, causing sync errors, lag kicking, or any other game abuse to artificially gain a win or avoid a loss. Using hack/cheat programs, or exploiting game flaws/bugs provides an unfair advantage to players, ruining the fair gameplay experience for legitimate gamers. This will not be tolerated.

Quote from: Buggo
How to Report

Should you come across any players participating in these actions, we prefer that you save a replay AND a screenshot and send it to community@relic.com. We will investigate the incident and act accordingly. If you believe you have been suspended or banned wrongly, please contact Relic's Community Manager at ahenze@relic.com.

I can't emphasize enough how important it is that MULTIPLE people do this.  Especially because this is a mod.  Screen shots, replays, fraps, etc. are all very welcome.  If you're reading this and care please submit this to Relic, along with whatever other proof you have.  Relic does know about and care about this mod.

Nope,
Intentionally lag your end then abuse relic's inability to identify who is causing the lag to either crash the game or kick players who are not lagging.

Do *that* and earn a ban
