***** Exactly. As Relic states, any action in which to artificially cause a win is against their policy. You can't honestly tell me that kicking out two of your opponents from the game without warning or anything else is even remotely sportsmanlike. I for one don't want this community to become kick happy under the threat of getting the boot first.

Yeah, we don't need the "See who can kick the other players out of the game first" thing to spill into EiR. (t one of the things I like about EiR that *Most* people won't have the automatic urge to kick you while playing a game.

Just watched this replay

Allies TOTALLY had it won at 45 minutes in, had wiped out most of the axis units and had pushed them back to the spawn row of territories on Abbeville - Then all of a sudden there are a bunch of lag messages and two allied players get dropped

Then theres some conversation thats basically "tough luck, war is hell" from the axis to the remaining ally player

Axis pulls a couple squads of inf on, and tries to back-cap the remaining allied player

...Except the allied player has a howitzer on-map and about 5 MGs, the axis are apparently out of support weapons and vehicles

So the axis take their time before they figure out that as long as each front-line sector has an allied MG in it, they can't cap the territories behind it

Then they try to mortar out one flank MG but get howitzered

Then the lag starts again

20-30 messages at a time, probably 10-20 minutes worth of lag messages - Then the axis start talking about how they're tabbing out to play spyder solitaire. and why doesn't the allied player just leave
then one axis guy gets annihalated and there are another 40 or 50 lag messages coming specifially from him

allied player asks the axis player who was annihalated to leave because he's lagging and so they can finish the game

then the axis players all start spamming letters, a bunch more lag messages, and the allied player gets kicked and the game ends with the axis victorious

This is the most blatant drop-hack I've ever seen - just look at the in-game chat, look at who is lagging, look at the circumstances around it, this NEEDS to have repurcussions -  I have dealt with Blitzkrieg and his buddies before, Last week he was playing under an allied smurf and we figured out who he was and asked if he drop-hacked - He said "no" and his buddy said "he just lags a bunch and kicks people sometimes"   We wouldn't play with him, so one of the other two guys he always plays with came into the vent (they have their own vent server they use during games) and complained about it, when we asked him there if blitz drop-hacked HE SAID THAT YES, HE USED TO - BUT HE WASNT GOING TO DO IT ANY MORE.

Clearly, this is not the case.    Can an admin actually watch this replay?    From 45min on is where the actual drophack is.   Look at where the lag messages show up, its only after the axis are almost pushed off the map and when the axis realize they can't get an MCP win because they can't kill the MGs
AND they talk about how they are tabbing out!!!

Just spoke with Buggo over MSN about this:
Sounds like this IS on you, FL

Buggo (Allie) - says:
What was it about?
Andy says:
we don't know how to report the drop hackers because you need to have the mod installed, and the battle files downloaded, and custom maps, etc.
Buggo (Allie) - says:
If they're using a mod
Buggo (Allie) - says:
You can't really report them for drop hacking
Andy says:
oh?
Buggo (Allie) - says:
as in]
Buggo (Allie) - says:
If you are both playing the mod
Buggo (Allie) - says:
It's kinda hard to arbitrate something that happened when two players were playing an unoffiical relic mod

Yep, sounds like FL and the Devs need to take a hard stance on this, since it is the mods responsibility.

That was what I got from the conversation, yes - If both people are using modded versions of the game, Relic can't arbitrate

watched the replay, and wow.

I know FL- and Ucross are busy, but if they don't watch this at some point they are doing a disservice to the mod.

Really really blatant

I wonder. Fl- or Ucross, can;t you ban their IPs permanently?

If they delete their accounts and IP ban them, they won't be able to access the website so they won't be able to make new companies, etc.

It's not that easy.  Regardless, I'd like to have the situation explained to Buggo more carefully.  There is little difference between playing vCoH and lagging to drop hack and playing EiR to do the same.

UCross,
the difference is moot because Relic will not install our mod material to view the replay, and even if they did its the principle of the thing - We are mod thus we are on our own

...deleted because of Andy's post (was posting the same)

Im sorry that you have to do this Ucross/FL but you have to take a hard stance on this, it is not up to Relic to do so since it is a independent mod, not supported by them.  Please take a stance because otherwise they will continue to do it, and whats worse others may follow.

I'm considering just freaking votekicking everyone cause one Dsyncs and then everyone drops and then it calls us the losers...

If they are lagging their team should suffer, not us.

I should hope this doesn't cause an anti-lag movement for those of us with lower end computers.. (namely me) but I suppose most people have been around enough to know better.

Any information or details?   I know i'm not the only one who would like to know what the EIR policy is on this and response to breaking that policy

It was handled under the Exploit and Abuse policy.  The parties were warned since this was the first official complaint.  They admitted to their actions and promised to never do it again.

Any subsequent action of this nature by them will result in either a company wipe or a IP ban.
