There is a reason the streets are so empty in many gameplay videos, they are taken at the beginning of the game. Apparently there is a plot element that explains it and it is resolved fairly early in the game.

Also time of day, weather and location effect how many peds and cars are around. As far as detail, every review says that the city is so incredibly detailed you could spend the next 6 months playing and not see everything.

I am of the school of thought that gameplay, plot, etc >>>> graphics

Lots of senseless violence? Now it's on multiplayer so it's lots of senseless violence with friends and others.

I have been reading the review from IGN, it does sound awesome. I have bought every other GTA for the pc, and enjoyed them all. I expect this to be no different.

PC's are huge money sinks just to get the same performance as a £270 console, if i could get a PC with that processing and graphics power for that amount of money then i would go for it.

Except pcs do a lot more than consoles and the game plays a lot better on pcs.... It'll probably look better too.
PC also has a better modding community and can handle  bigger multiplayer games/servers.

Mouse + Keyboard >>> Crappy controller.

On comparable priced machines the game plays better on the console.

I know PC do a lot more, but if you are only interested in gaming, a console way better value.

If you're interested in gaming, the added $$$ are well worth it and at least you'll be able to play RTS & FPS, unlike on crappy consoles. PCs can also be upgraded fairly easy for the next generation games where as you'll have to buy a new console every fucking time.

Anyhow, this is a useless discussion, you're being a console fanboy Smiley.
The only console I have is a Wii, rofl, it's interesting to play with some friends but that's about it. I have my PC for serious gaming.

you aren't even following my argument, if you are only interested in gaming why pay £3000 for a PC that can process the same graphics quality and processing power as a £270 console?

also true you have to buy new console BUT, you also have to keep upgrading PC's to get the same results, and buy the time you have upgraded - it is already obsolete Tongue AND pay more in the first place.

and i am not a console fan boy i just see that they are more value for money than PC's for gaming.

Your PC will not process the same graphics, it'll process vastly superior graphics in every way.

In addition to that, consoles don't alllow you to play RTS/FPS properly imho.

I wasn't saying that PCs are better than consoles (which I think they are, but that's not the topic of this conversation).

What I meant was that saying "GTA doesn't fit on the PC" is.. wrong =D

GTA 1 and 2, were PC games. The original is still my fav =D

All the GTAIII series games have much better performance on the PC. Graphics too, but its still ugly Tongue

wrong. i have an Xbox 360 aswell as a PC(obviously..). The 360 Gfx, depending on the Game(mass effect for example) are superior, end of story.
your right with FPS, RTS and MMORPGs tough, those suck without a proper keyboard.

@Unk0wn: I am better at FPS on my Xbox than i am on my PC. i find it way easier.

I know a £11,000 PC (w00t alienware) will easily beat an xbox 360 or ps3, but a £3000 i am not so sure, because you are paying for everything else, if you tried to build a PC with gaming specs near to/same as an Xbox 360 it would easily cost quite a bit more. - i think the GFX card alone would.

You probably both have shitty PCs then.
My 1200 - 1600€ Gaming pc will outdo the XboX anyday.

Anyway, another amazing review.
