5teinmarder ClockworkHead HighVelocity vs BradAnderson Sach Natedog
Cool map, funny game, intensive street fights, a bit too laggy.

really not convinced by this map. The actual layout i like but the sectors make it tedious and support team heavy. Not fun.

I allready changed the sectors a couple of times to make it less of a stalemate. If its still too 'support team heavy' you should get your first mortar or start using the EXTREMELY open flanks to do some pushing there, and cap afterwards.

Theres not 1 undamaged building around, most of em have at least 3 damage points, they fall down like cardhouses if mortared, not to speak of real artillery. Seriously, its an uncommon layout yes. And if you play it like a vCoH stock map you will fail! Try to use the space you have, thats what-for its there..

I cant remember anymore who won that game, but i guess it was us. With me being the one who created the map. Try to be more open minded Sach, you have so many options on the map. Most people just dont see them.

Perhaps I am being a little unfair but as the defender I did not see the options. I could not abandon the city as that was where the sectors were. I suppose we could have gone for a complete flank but that still would not have solved anything. Maybe we would do some damage but we would not be able to cap anything.

Like I say, I think the map lay out is good but I don't think there are any options. If the flanks were genuinely worth as much as the centre then I would have no problem and I could avoid/flank the invetable mg/mortar/pak spam that the center would be.

Basically, not all maps suit all players and I think this one just really doesn't suit me. I rarely use houses or weapon teams and prefer a more fluid defense.

I think this map is very cool, but I think the advantage is to the attackers. Which isn't a bad thing considering maps like bastion which can be hell for the attackers.

My available companies:
Allies:
*AB company going for raid assault
  Infantry going for tank reapers
Axis:
*Defensive going for rocket artillery
  Blitz going for lightning war
And an experimental Terror company going for subversion consisting of all volks and two King Tigers

bastion actually has a 1:1 ratio on attacking/defending wins, same goes for westfalen at the moment but the amount of games played on westfalen is way lower

you should try to speak with your teammates there sach to deploy a tactic where they hold the stationary areas and you do some flanking with your army constantly. That could work out pretty good

Indeed, I can't comment for West Falan (Steinmarder knows I hate it) but Bastion is one of the more even maps you can play as attacker Smiley

you should try it again prydefalcn, it has changed a lot in terms of the gameplay; due to some sector adjustments and some building changes.

the game is way faster and more spread out than since you last played it I think (as i dont know for sure that your last game was quite a while ago but i guess so  Wink )

Its getting finalized at the moment (as soon as i have a really good screenshot so kolath can make me a nice loading screen from it) but if you still dont like it you better dont even try my rereleased overlord  Grin

(thinking about it, there are just some people who prefer a "plain open field" and some who love to fight in an area with loads of cover and buildings, my maps fit the second one. I just prefer fights where it actually looks like war, not like a softair fight)

I haven't played it in a while, so I'll see if I can give it a shot again in the future.

it is a good map, I don't know what side it benifits.. the defenders pretty much ignore the extra space, and the attackers gain nothing by flanking most of the time.. I haven't tried the NEWEST version but I really like the way the map works, just hard to find people wanting to fight over areas where they can't cap...
