As a bunch of people here know I co-run a guild that is very heavy into the PVP mmo's. (Shadowbane, Dark Age of Camelot, etc etc..)

Generally speaking the guild will have 15 members involved in the beta of Conan, and 40 confirmed members at the moment for the actual release.  with atleast 20 unconfirmed. We will be playing on the PVP FFA server.

Some of you have met them, and have accounts on both the forum and our private vent, if you are looking for a good respectful group of people to play with, and go out of your way to kill absolutely everyone you can, look us up.

THERE IS AN AGE LIMIT IN THIS GUILD, we can wave that for the right people, but mostly as any private guild, we want as little drama as possible, and prefer an elite tight knit group over a general mob.

Hey im in AoC general beta too! I had a conqueror lvl 19 before the last wipe. But game seemed dull to me and so i dont play any more.
Inbalance in the pvp. Quest farming. I dont feel like going through Tortuga again. Yeah one time feels enough somehow.

I dont know if it have impoved at all. I kinda like the combat system, but pvp inbalances (melee classes vs spell class) ruin it for me.

Mythos is funny, but not a game to compete with any major MMO. I actually liked the diablo-esque hell mmo thing they had (same dev as mythos i think), but it seemed there was no one else to play against.

How'd you all get into the beta? I thought you needed to be a subscriber (and because of these new subscriber-only events like crysis and this game, I hope the inventor's of this idiotic way to distribute a beta die a horrible, slow death ).

Well, the download for the installer was approx. 12 GB's.  Considering they wanted a reported 30000 people in the beta, there are very few download centers that can handle that PLUS handle all the necessary NDA work involved.  FilePlanet just happens to be a trusted source for distribution and handling of beta programs, which takes a ton of work off of any servers that the distributor has.

Mythos isnt crap.
Crap is cookie cutter mmos, grinding quests lvls and items and having no existant pvp. Mmos with no risk in death and with zero character development.

Im having my eyes set on darkfall (yes im among those who believe its not vaporware).
Frankly i dont see AoC being that great, mainly because of the imbalance in pvp, and the fact that its advertised as mainly a pvp game it makes it a big deal.
But hey this is beta, maybe they will fix it, but i dont feel like joining from the start. I like playing melee characters but they dont have any luck against spellcasting classes.
Fighters of like 35 lvls are getting owned by spellcasters of even 30..

Also the way i experienced you cant have pvp unless the other guy agrees with it. And even if you engage in pvp and your opponent sees that he loses, he can flee unharmed.
The rate of hp regenaration is so fast and comes in such a high amount, that you can keep start run as soon as you see losing and regain much of your hp in a matter of a few seconds.
So you can try going after a guy all you want, but he can escape death whenever he can by sprinting and regaining his hp almost instantly.
In the end you lose interest in fighting him. You lose interest in pvp.

Anyway this is what it felt like, maybe im wrong maybe not, maybe it is changed maybe not but anyway, i expected a lot more..

I could play it, but what are the usual hours we can expect to devote to this game? I quit WoW because of the 6-12 hours long raids, too often we would spend like 2-3 hours on a single boss because of constant wipes. But, when it comes to PvP, now that's a different story.

Anyways, I'll sign up, but what's the age limit? I've just hit sixteen years of age as of two days and a month ago.

Also, technical or general beta? I assume general beta?

I've just visited the beta forums after a while.
There are people that are really pissed about funcom, on a broad scale of issues that i cant go right now, but i promish i will give you guys a closer look when i got the chance.
There are people cancelling their preorders relating AoC launch to that of vanguard, cause there are a lot of serious technical issues as long as gameplay issues 18 days prior to launch.
