Thompson rangers work great with triage centers.

Don't use thompsons to rush anything.  Focus on keeping them alive and in the fight, useing fireup to retreat rather than to assault.

Keep other troops in front of them; use the thompson rangers for firepower.  You have to baby them; the squad is very expensive.

Don't pair thompson squads. I see people do this - IMO it's not efficient.  The major downside of thompson squads is that they lose AT ability as they take damage, so this actually renders you pretty weak to armor.  Similarly, in infantry combat the squad in front is going to take a bunch of hits and maybe get forced off. If they had thompsons that's just a waste of 250 munitions.  So I tend not to do this. If you want to use pairs, put a thompson squad with a regular ranger squad - ideally one with grenades.

First, where are these KCH blobs? Second, support Rangers with Riflemen, use a BAR to suppress and watch the rangers clean house.

I wish the BAR was truly the divine weapon of doom that AMPM makes it appear like.

Its not, its a tool. It suppresses. When infantry are suppressed they fail at combat. You then move in units to clean it up. If you have 1 BAR in every rifle platoon, and an HMG backing them up, you should do just fine. Oh and you can do that and afford AT still.

How are you going to get a BAR on every rifle platoon.
I have 5 (+2 assault squads), I have no tommies anymore, and I still AT and HMGs.
where are these BARs comming from?
I find that upgrade far too expensive, I'd rather buy nearly 2 Bars for it, supressing and dealing good damage.
And 180 MU I can pump into 6 HMGs;
On the other side, with cohesion or stacked smgrangers are worth their money.

i actually agree with him on this one Tongue, i watch my airborne do it all the time to KCH and mp44 storms....and thats airborne

i find giving 5-7 out to your vet 3 rifles worth it, the firesupport base they provide is great.

personally i was never a ranger fan, but thats just play style.

Also, I lost a game due to not enough anti-infantry units, so airborne get double damage at each vet level.

More changes to come.

BARs cost less than LMGs, I have something like 10 LMGs. I still have PAKs and tanks, and I know for certain my PAKs cost more than a 57, also I have something like 8 HMGs, 5 mine packs, and a Repair Bunker. Oh, and some schreks.

So don't tell me you are running out of Mu.

While this may have been true before the bazookas got re-attached by default, usually 2 KCH squads will win against 2 Ranger squads with thompsons. It doesn't seem like a big deal at first but adding bazookas back on them significantly reduced the AI firepower imho. (Remember the old rangers that just raped everything in their path with thompsons? Tongue) Especially if the KCH pop out some medkits. I'm not sure how vet affects this though.

Thats about 1050+lets say 3 paks, 570, + 320, + 75 +well, 2 schrecks +bunker (180?)
= 2415 .
A new player with 25 RBs all into Munition will still lack 300 MU for that config.

Most people can quite tell you they are running out of ammunition.
And as allied player you need at least 3 atgs, i prefer 4, optimum is 5.
So that PAKs are more expensive isnt an argument, you simply need more, axis got stronger tanks.
I for myself counter my lack of munitions with simple riflespam, at 137 MP a squad I can afford some of them.
Generaly I would only use more than 5 BARs or thommies for rangers if I got stacked, or cohesion, which is to weak for a t4.
No offense to you.

I always pack 2 Paks, 3 or more is overkill imho.
About 3 shrecks on top of that.

As allies I pack about 3 - 5 AT guns and maybe 1 - 2 stickies at most.
