Veterancies...

one brief question to the developers...
Why veteravcies dont work in a sence that by each level unit or squad gain everythnig but in smaller percentage.
eg. instead that
v1 means 20% harder,
v2 means 20% faster,
v3 means 20% lethal etc...
why not set veterancing in a way that:
v1 means 5% harder and faster and lethal,
v2 10% harder, faster and lethal,
v3 20% harder, faster and lethat... etc.
(notice: harder and faster and lethal is just an example, it can be what ever certain unittype actuali gains through veterancy).
What do you think of it, that troops gain all but in smaler percentage?

It's a pain trying to keep vet 2 rifles alive with stickies for the extra throwing range, at least with vet 1 they'd be better than useless.
I like this suggestion overall.

so right now you have
vet1 +20 stat A
vet2 +20 stat b
vet3 +20 stat c
you are suggesting
vet1 +5 stat A , B , C
vet2 +5 stat A , B , C
vet 3 +10 stat A , B , C
making them all 20 at the end but gaining differently.

I actually prefer the gradual approach, then the larger bonuses all at once. To make things clear I like this idea:
vet1 +5 stat A , B , C
vet2 +5 stat A , B , C
vet 3 +10 stat A , B , C
Although obviously each unit is unique and may have less or more stats important to it.

Meh,
I think the way it is now is fine - with 5% of three stats over 20% of one stat, you really won't see a difference - most units dont make it to vet3 so it'll be rare to see big buffs to units
Additionally, this type of system on something like rifles will unbalance the whole volks or grens vs. rifles fight because (suddenly) all your vet1 rifles are doing +5% damage, which is a very different thing than 20% chance to dodge
no reason to mess with this part of the system

I wouldn't mind this and it definately wouldn't be hard to implement, it's basically the PE vet system minus the choice

Like it.
Not the system it self, but the approach.
I would head rather for
8 4 4
4 8 4
4 4 8
for a little difference.
Just an idea, not balanced

The current vet system buffs units too much anyhow.

Vet doesn't win games, it helps but good players with no vet still butcher high vet average players.

Yeah, but on 2 average skilled players vet truely helps.
You have to consider it doesn't only increase surviveability and damage, it also amplifies the effect of upgrades.
But until now I had only, I think, 2 games where I was really outvetted, and one game were I played shit.
On all other games I suppose the enemy was better.
Gotta accept it.
Still, I think the effects of vet should arrive more smoothly, not like vet1 rifle, oh well, harder to kill, vet 2 SHIT they are approaching my tank, I need AI, they gotta have stickies (overdramatized).

I must disagree, aldo i theory this may sound logical my self was never killed by less veted players, only the higher ones...
Especially i love overveted King Tigers... these things really ruin the game for me...
(Next war i am defenetly an axis player with KT).

I started again with my new company (well it was new) using 0 vet volks and p4's as my primary force (with proper HMG and Mortar support) and its lost 1 game of 10 or so.

Don't proove what no one said is wrong.
DjTerror just prooved that the players with vet are mostly the good players.
Problem: It makes them even stronger than the noobs than they already are.
There should be something like getting a bonus RB when fighting a truely superior player, although that rarely happens.

So since you can do it, everyone should be able to

kts actually arn't very good
they're big damage sponges, but yeah... infantry with stickies, or really anything that isn't a tank will hurt them way more than they can hurt.

No, but a game should not be balanced around the lowest denomination.

But vet3 with german steel will cost the enemy several minutes to destroy it, even with tankreapers.
Thats what it made for.
And Stickies won't really damage it.
But sure, your right, KT is far from overpowered, I'd love to see the Tigerace back.
sorry for ot
