I don't know how the hell putting a Swastika has my avatar offended anyone here we are playing a WW2 war game and that was the German flag , a whole lot of great German men woman and children died under that flag . Nothing about WW2 was nice or rosy people died on all side there was genocide and evil on all sides ..So I don't think you can paint some wonderful picture of WW2  or take out parts that you don't like..

Does not make much sense to me...

I will change it as not to offend anyone ..

Changing from a Swastika to the SS sign... hrmmmmm.... yeah that's better  Roll Eyes

Look. I asked you kindly via PM to remove it because it is inappropriate and does offend people.

Just because you can't see anything offensive with it doesn't mean it isn't. For me, the Swastika and SS sign are symbols of the brutal life my great grandparents had to live through under their regimes. On one side, I have a great grandfather who was captured by the Nazis, and the almost worked to death for 5 years as forced labour. One the other side, I have a great grandfather who fought to free people like my other great grandfather from the oppression the Nazis imposed against Europe.

So forgive me for not thinking it's not offensive; because it is and it is actually banned in some countries. The least you could do is respect people wishes instead of turning what I asked you to do into a mockery.

The swastika mean different things to different people! Too my one grandfather it is a sign of his former enemies, to my other grandfather it is the sign of his legacy, both as a Waffen-SS soldier and as a Odinist.
If you are so bloody offended by it, then bite your lip! Flippin' hell, I know some Buddhists and for them the swastika is a sign of might and good fortune.

Let people keep their bloody signs for them self, no matter what you think of them!

No. I will not 'bit my lip' because some little punk thinks he's cool having a Swastika as a Avatar. Swastika and the SS sign goes or his Avatar rights go.

Rocksitter could have kept this civil and private, but decided to play the 'community vs mod' card.

As usual it shows the lack of sensitivity displayed by a generation that has not suffered the effects of what those symbols mean.

Again another example this community is going down the crapper because of crap like this.

How was that mocking anyone I see others who I did not want to bring into this with the Swastika on there avatar..

All I pointed out was that All of the German people are not monsters like some would lead you to think my step Grandfather fought on the German side of the war and was a great man he also wore the Swastika proudly on his arm. Don't make me out to be some fucking neo Nazi that Iam not you tell me one thing I posted that was not a fact..

This is a game with guns tanks mortars bombs and the like those things as we all know kill people no fucking joke so to make a big deal out of the Swastika when we are playing a WW2 game still make no sense to me....

Man most governments are fucked buy this does not mean the people under them are..

Also if you are so taken back by the swastika or WW2 why the hell would you even play a WW2 game with the Germans in it seems like a contradiction to me.....

Oh here let me change it again....

Bringing this to a public stage is what makes this ridiculous in the first place, Rocksitter.  The moderators have a set of guidelines they follow, personal or not, you should follow what they set forth and think is right in order to help improve the community as a whole even if you don't see the bigger picture.

There are Moderators for a reason, change the avatar and let it be.

I don't think he was referring to you per say, but as a reference of a figure of speech.

Allright then mate be a moron,  get rid of the rising sun please, my family suffered in the darwin bombing and from prisoner in changi and the river kawi rail bridge. You have clearly not understood the notion that ww2 is still fresh in peoples mind and the generation that survived that war are still alive, it comes back to discussion a few months ago in regards to the use of certain words.

Youth usually does show a lack of respect for what they truly do not understand.

Insulting each-other and name calling does nothing but further this as pointless bullshit.

If further requests are made to change it from a Moderator then do it, you cannot appease everyone but you can appease the general consensus for the way things have been seen as, especially in current times.
