I played a game just now with Nickblasta and Genericnamealpha, it was falsley reported as a win adter nick desync the game for what ever reason, I beleive Nick and Dido13 had a NAT failure during the game.

The game was then repoted as an axis win because they killed off the on feild units rather than alt tabbing to abandon. This has happened to me on a number of occasions. I find this to be a drop hack in its own right.

To the devs:
Is there a possible code solution to this?
Can we post here to get a proper abandon?

To the community:
Am I the only one who thinks the is BS?

replay?

Who was left in the game?  how far into the game were you? who was winning? did you guys talk about what you were going to do?

lots of details left out of this before deciding someone tried to cheat or screwed up - NickBlasta is a long standing player so I think many of us will take a little more evidence than you've provided before passing judgement

I dropped from the game, after the desync figured we were gonna abandon it. I figured 2 regular player would be, I dont want to say sportsman like, I guess cooth maybe the word. My point isnt this particular game, more the fact that this can even happen. Can you say this has never happened to you?  Can any one whos play 50 games recently say this had never happened to them? That is my point.

Allies were winning IMO we had push them out of the left side of crossroads, It was a total desync, all players had there own game, we were about 30 minutes into the game. pop cap at the point was +1.39 allies, I realize nick is a long standing player, thats why I didnt expect the sandpaper condom from him.

So one player from each team desync'd and you did not, you and nick remained in the game after the desync and you dropped thinking it would abandon

How far into the game were you?

Did you talk to nick (the remaining player) about this, or just assume that you would abandon.

Details man Smiley

theres pretty much nothing that can be done at this point, I would usually abandon depending on the time the game has gone on. But yea, it sucks whenever it desyncs and the enemy gets a free win.

Hois only resposne was ohh its already reported, all he had to do was kill my jeep and 3/4 dead sherman, they were the only allied vehicles on the feild.

Well I think there might have been a little miscommunication. It occurred at about 24 minutes in, dodo dropped and then migi dropped (at least to gna and I) a few seconds after that, we figured he quit because of his teammate. Then his units ran off the board so the game ended. He didn't come to tell us he wanted to maybe abandon until the game was over, so I dunno. Sorry I guess.

okay this is getting confusing

Before desync what were the teams
After desync who was left in-game

if remaining people in game were on different teams, did they finish the fight?

did anybody talk about anything after desync?

also, post the replay

okay, if what Nick is saying is accurate, then you (migi) should have

 A) stayed and fought it out
B) talked to the other team and ask them if you could either restart the game or abandon
c) retreated and taken the loss but saved your units

sounds like nick and gna played by the rules set out in the Official Drop/Lagout Policy thread
http://forums.europeinruins.com/index.php/topic,4508.0.html
excerpt:
* Any games with players dropping after 5 minutes of actual game time (timer will be added back in to show you how far along you are) are to be continued.  In the rare event that ALL PLAYERS on both sides  unanimously agree to restart the game, the game may be restarted.  However, restarting or abandoning a game where one or more players drop is to be an exception, not a rule.

THis is still not about this game, I got nothing against either player, just the systemthat allows this to happen with out match ing axis and allies reports, ffs read.

Look at it from the games perspective - its a 2v2 and its progressing, one player drops and his units automatically retreat (to help preserve his vet)
you quit without warning, your units retreat to preserve your vet

the game ends because there are no opponents and no enemy units on the field

the side that has units on the field and players in the game is the obvious winner as far as CoH is concerned

to make the system you're describing, you'd have to make it so after every game players from both teams input who won, and what units were lost, gained vet, etc.....

I think the system is fine the way it is, you as a player need to take responsibility for communicating with the other team in a situation like this - Sounds like this is all about a failure to communicate

edit:
and I did read your post - you might want to re-read it because the way you phrase it makes it seem like Nick and Generic did something shady to get the win, when really it's just that you assumed they would abandon after 25 minutes of gameplay without bothering to talk to them.

THEE GAME SHARDED, I WAS IN MY OWN GAME, I NEVER RETREATED SHIT, I DROPPED FROM THER GAME AFTER ABOUT ONE MINUTE, AND WENT TO ABANDON, AM I CLEAR YET, CAN YOU UNDERSTAND NOW.
I NEVER DROPPED, THE GAME SHARDED

SECONDLY, MY UNITS WERE NOT OFF THE FEILD AS I LOST A SHERMAN AND A VET 1 JEEP, AND AN ATG THAT WERE ON THE FEILD THAT WERE NOT IFANTRY, BECAUSE ONLY INFANTRY AUTO RETREATS

THIRD THIS IS NOT ABOUT THIS GAME, IT IS ABOUT A SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS ONE SIDE TO REPORT A WIN WITHOUT HAVING A MATCHING REPORT FROM THE OPPONET.

AND PARDON MY SPELLING I HAVNET BOTHER TO CHECK IT WHNE I AM TYPING THIS FAST AND JUST TRYING TO GET THE POINT ACROSS THAT IT IS NOT ABOUT THIS GAME

Dude I've had this happen several times.  Twice when someone on my team dropped in the first five minutes and when dropping out to remake, the game counted as a loss for my team.  It's rare, but it happens.  The system in place isn't infallible, but it's a pretty fantastic way of automatically handling things.  I'm sorry you lost your sherman and jeep, but just forget about it and move on.

To put this into perspective, I run into mis-reported losses or non-reported games a lot more doing 1v1 AT playing vCoH.
