Taken the long way to Berlin
Dark realms I went through..
It was on a Higgins boat I have arrived
My vision's so clear..

In anger and pain
I left deep wounds behind
But I arrived
Truth might be blessed by victory !

Beyond the madness that lies ahead
A swarm of enemies exist
This land it was of peaceful beauty
But War and death went by
I've heard the warning
Well curse my name
I'll keep on fighting
No regret
No regret

Don't fear the eyes of the Dark Lord
In agony I cry
All hope may be lost but I swear revenge
Hear my oath
I will take part in your fall

I will always remember their cries that morning
Like a shadow which covers the light
I will always remember the time..
But it's past
I cannot turn back the time
I don't look back
There's still smoke near the shore
But I have arrived !
Revenge be mine..

I will take part in ending this
In anguish I cried
It's my oath
So don't fear the eyes
Of the dark lord

Soon we will set these people free
Soon the world will know peace..

But..
 ..Suddenly I realized
The terror I've never believed in
Their deeds were wrong
They stained the land
And slain their kin
(Burning Soul)
There's no release from their sins
It hurts
THE CURSE OF NAZIS RUNS LONG

Time and only time will tell us
Tell: was I right or wrong?
When anger breaks through
I'll leave mercy behind !

I will always remember their cries
Like a shadow they'll cover my life
But I'll also remember mine
After all I'm still alive..
I'm still ALIVE..........

This a tribute to the unknown GI that charged the beach in Omaha on June 6, 1944 .

Good poem, however, the last few lines reminded me of the closing song from Portals and as such, left me with an unintentionally hilarious vision of the Marine being a giant super computer storming the Nazi Doom Fortresses and then recounting all of this.

I'm doing science and I'm still alive.

It sounds like and Iron Maiden song. Nice work.
