From what I have seen without watching the replay, you are the prime example of willing to play anyone with any teamates. Thus you have a shitty record.

I applaud you for that as you are a better person than I. I need competent teammates.

Hey watch some of the replays it helps to see others that know what there doing to get an idea for your own strategies...

Iam 1-5 but I have learned from each loss more so than from the 1 win that I have. So Iam watching replays as well I started like 3 days ago I watch others as well as my own to see the mistakes I Have made...

Well I guess you have seen it all or at least should have in all those games so my advice will not help you but I don't think it would hurt either just be a waste of time ..

Try the Tales of Heroes Noob training videos. You can obviously ignore or the macro level stuff but it will seriously improve your micro. Just ignore the Legend of the Crocodile video  Sad

pfft what a loser! 2-12? That's crappy, last war my terror account was like 3-19!

Don't feel bad, it takes a while to really understand how the game works, and what works best and such, or you could just have bad luck of going up against stacked teams/good players.

Also could be the doctrine choice you made just doesn't suit your play style as well as you thought. I made the switch from terror to blitz, got my T4, and had a win percentage of 41%. I found out that the terror choice I made just simply didnt work for me, I went heavy support, but I never used the appropriate amount of support teams. id have 2-3 MGs, 1 mortar, 2-3 AT guns, and tons of infantry, I should of had something like 5-6 mgs, 3 mortars, 4-5 AT guns, and much less infantry to take full advantage of all the doctrine choices i made.

Anyways, I found that blitz suited my play style much better. So maybe mess around with different doctrines, take a hard look at your play style and see what works best.

My available companies:
Allies:
*AB company going for raid assault
  Infantry going for tank reapers
Axis:
*Defensive going for rocket artillery
  Blitz going for lightning war
And an experimental Terror company going for subversion consisting of all volks and two King Tigers

To a certain extent, i can never really find any good team-mates they always seem to have arranged teams - louie, natd0g, chubba and brad usually play together and win a lot, the only times i have won is with them - so maybe that deduction is correct.

But i am quite picky about my opponents, i try my best not to fight ones i know i think are pretty good, and can beat me with their eyes closed - but then again with my record that has proven that is pretty much everybody Tongue.

OK thanks everybody, but the "it takes a while to get used bla bla" does not apply, i have been with the mod since quite early, about 1.3 or something the 400 pop companies Tongue.

I just want to know what i do wrong in game - hence why i posted a replay, i think my companies suit me, i spend ages planning out what i will buy, what abilities to get, then i plan on what to change in my company based on those doctrine abilities.

In fact i prefer playing around in the war control panel; getting abilities spending RB's and modifying my company more than actually playing.

This is a question of my in-game tactics; where do i fuck up?

Alright Cozmo, here you go. From just the replay:

1. Your ally sucked so many balls. No offense to him.
2. Many times you left units in the back doing nothing while another unit, usually your ally's, was nearby being owned. Looks like poor micromanagement, which I hate to say because 'micro' has become synonymous with 'skill' on these forums. I mean micro in the sense of controlling multiple units directly almost simultaneously.
3. Your start was shit. Without a mortar your only defense, a HMG and a couple rifles, got owned. Put a motar in your start, not just in your after-Triage platoon.
4. You scouted with support teams. A mortar team is not the right unit to lead the advancing party or see what's going on. Neither is a 57.
5. Sort out your priorities. I'm referring to one instance where you howie'd a building with a squad of KCH in it whilst next door was a HMG in a building. Ironically after that you told your team mate to take out the HMG.
6. Use BARS. In all of the infantry-infantry encounters I never once saw BAR suppression go up. It is good.

Most of your problems seem to come from a lack of both macro and micro skillz. I recommend working on macro (the big picture, timing when and what to bring out, synergy among units, etc). Micro is really a determinant of how many units you lose and how quickly things will happen.

Yeah they are good and the two basic training ones are seriously useful. I also star in one of them as an example of how not to play. It was in my first few weeks of vCoH but its always nice when someone recognises me as 'hey you're that crocodile noob right?'

Thanks: yea lack of communication (IE vent was down when i played that game) maybe have been a factor on the part when we just let each other get ripped up.

Thing is with micro... when does it get better, i have been playing CoH since before it came out in the UK Wink, when does this time when you can actually micro come about? a few weeks, months, years?

Also it is not clever to use SF on troops in cover since it does not do much in the form of suppression, and when it is activated you do almost no damage.

i wasn't consciously using my 57's and mortars as scouts Tongue, i thought used my sniper... and then tried to bomb the areas i found, with the MG and 57 near by to counter any armored to inf rushes on the mortar.

KCH in a building are almost like an MG, but yea i think i messed that bit up Tongue.

PS: added a new replay to first post for more comparisons.

For some people it only takes a few weeks, other months, exceptionally few may take years.
And unfortunately, for others, it'll never come.

The best way to properly learn vCoH is by playing 1vs1 extensively. Don't just play a few games, play at least one or two every day.
The way I see it, you play COH for a few days/weeks at most then take a large break and come back later expecting to be just as 'good' as you were before you left.

"Skill" in vCoH is not like riding a bicycle. If you don't play frequently, if you take large breaks, etc you will lose a large portion of your "skill".

You'll never become a good player if you only play an occasional vCoH or EIR game. The only way you can ever be a good player at this game, and any game or RL skill for that matter is by frequent practice, repetition, persistence. (And a little bit of natural "skill", some people will never get really good at RTS, just like others will never get really good at shooters, and just like others will never become excellent at Chess, or soccer, or baseball, etc)
