Honestly Cozmo; I didn't think you did to bad, you could have done much worse.

One big thing that I saw, and continue to see in peoples games is the complete lack of using shot blocking terrain features. I'm talking about clumps of trees and buildings most. Stay behind them and nothing can touch you, they have to come to you.

I also saw the age old thing of 'Unit Rage' this is where a player MUST KILL a unit before they do anything.

But other than that I think you just got outplayed, not really beaten, just outplayed as their rush at the start kinda put you out of place.

I'm thinking of doing either a series of replays, video montage of not to do or the like. Interest?

Thanks: the video thing would be good.

But TBH i don't find myself losing to thinks like: being hit by nades and other micro stuff all to often, i have a feeling its my ability to multi-task, a cannot always do what i am doing (eg micro) and at the same time be planning to what to do next... But i am glad i took gamerandy's advice and put nades on 50% of my rifles (one nade in to call in pair) i find them quite useful.

About unit rage: an MG can lock an area down to infantry to it can be imperative to take it out if you wish to take that area... in fact a 30cal can lock down an area... in my second replay my pair of 30cals locked down the centre of argentan to the axis... but that didn't help since they didn't even need to take the centre... all teh attackers need to get the bleed is the out skirts, then they can just sit there...

and people ask me why i dont like argentan its either a really easy attacking win or difficult defending game.

all you say is "its shit" that is not a very constructive reason Tongue.

The attackers need less free territories, so they need to really take the town.

Technically, infantry boarding on tanks have been able to knock out said tanks with prybars and grenades...even with the crew locking the hatches.

For instance, in Italy, some Ranger managed to shoot the tank commander with a M1911A1, jumped onto the tank, and threw a WP grenade into it. This had predictable effects on the crew of the said tank. Here, the hatch wasn't able to be closed because the tank commander was in the commander's  cupola...which is, ironically, the safest thing a tank can do. Increased vision=less chance of being hit.

In the Battle of the Bulge, riflemen used AT rifle grenades at suicidally close distances with tanks, with varying results.

In the Pacific, the Japanese actually managed to climb onto Shermans, pry open the hatches, and drag out crews.

And, of course, the Soviets did the boarding thing pretty well against the Germans at Kursk. Though it involved more gasoline, crowbars, and matches than prybars.

Argentan is a defender's map. Half the middle attacker's workspace is red cover (the big road) and he gets one building with another directly behind it. The way hedges are set up the mid defender can significantly stall the mid attacker by simply barbing about 40 feet, then connected with the hedges the attacker will pretty much be constrained to either flank with one of his comrades until he gets heavy crush on the field.

With the longer ranged Axis mortars and the very low HP building near the wall it is very hard to stop them getting that first line of territories, the rest can be defended pretty easily, since the building have more HP and the mortars can also be countered since they are also inside the city by now. but at this point they have the drain on you.

Though that is true, if you simply have a early Ranger/Shreki or anything that can drive other then a jeep/bike. You can get around that wire fairly easily. Still stalls you for a couple seconds, since there is bound to be a mortar waiting for you to shoot it.

I think the best way to rape a tiger is get a thompson an climb on top "if they lock the hatch" they have those sight holes lie down on top and take the thompson and find the sight hole then stick your thompson barrel in and"click" your screwed Cheesy Though Tigers where usually guarded by infantry it gets muuch harder. PS could a mortar round penetrate the top of the Tigers armour?

Yes, but it won't do very much damage at all. Bouncing an AT gun shot will do about the same damage.

If a mortar penetrates the top of any tank's armor, the crew is might die from concussion. Or the top might just crumple like a tin can. What do you mean, "not that much damage"?

Firing a bullet in a tank=playing pinball. It's only a matter of time before you rack up a high score.

I'm 0 and 1. It should be 1 and 1, or 2 and 0...except COH died on me in the middle of the games.  Embarrassed

Back to fixing the internet connection...and my (&#$^ computer.
