We need more needless threadlocking from our administrator who already quit!

Ever since I became a normal forum member (<-> dev) my useful post ratio has been dropping from 75% all the way to 25%

2 Days in and our new moderators are already crossing a line on freedom of speech & useless banter. It's not like we need bandwidth reserved for 2.0
.
What's wrong with having a blank thread with nothing but useless crap in it!?
It's not like this is far below the average forum quality rofl.

Clearly its fascism
We don't need spam threads about why other threads were locked. Please stop posting them, even in jest. I did not read the entire Ireland thread, but I'll stick by Akranadas' judgment call.
You have 10 minutes to get it out of your system in this thread and then I'm going to lock it.

I feared the day would come when they turned regular cosy forum members into admins who then become real serious about everything. Wish you & salan would've turned down the application, moderating these forums holds no value and actual purpose. Especially not in these times where the entire development team basically said 'fuck it' for now.
Ah well, I can only hope you become sick of it like Akranadas did eventually. Also, the fascisms was clearly a joke (just like these threads), moderation usually harms one's sense of humour I noticed. Is all good though, no hard feelings =).
I'll do ya'll a favour and close it myself soon enough haha.

The Ireland thread contained some well thought points, which were discussed without excessive hostility. The admins oppinion that political discusssions on the internet will only lead to hostility is bullshit and does not justify a lock.
I find it amusing that their action of locking that thread only caused the rant they wanted to prevent.

Unkn0wn,
My goal in asking for mod powers was not to actually be a full-time moderator like Akranadas, but mainly to be able to do maintenance tasks like editing stickies, moving threads, etc. I'll also help out with particularly egregious or spammy threads. But I don't intend to do any heavy moderation, so no worries.

btw, I'm 16 months in and this is not my first forum thread merge spree.
Useless threads are fine. Resurfacing a thread that the moderators clearly do not want to be active, for whatever reasons, is not =) Even if it's somewhat amusing.

i hate responding on a locked thread because I don't believe I should have the last say on the subject, so I'll move this to a new thread where you can have an opinion ... and respond there.
