I joined right when Axis were almost wiped out last war, just before they made a huge push and reversed the territories. Incase that helps.

Your best bet Tym is to apply some real life tactics in game and also watch Game Replays if you still haven't got a feel for the dynamics of the battles.

I haven't been on this mod long either, about a month now give or take and all I've done is use some of the information in books Ive read and used that in game.

Hope it helps

Actually that was probably less than a week after I joined. the push was like 3 days or something, and that was only in the middle of it.

LOL CRONO i remember the first game i played wit you, we were attacking and i was ab, i called out a croc and then i intended to drop ab when it got to the town on rtc, well 20 seconds into the game crono is like, DUDE IS THIS YOUR START YOU HARDLY HAVE ANYTHING ON , and im just like wait and see, then crono said WTF DUDE YOU GOT TO CALL MORE OUT, and i said wait and see, it went on like this for a while and he was bitching me out and then once the croc hit the town i dropped ab instantly and i owned all the defense, then crono stfu, we also won the game, i used that start many tiems after wards it rips shit up

*edit* crono was pretty nice to me from there on out

Why? Just because you can't handle the righteous power of the Flak 36 88mm AT/AA?

EDIT:
And then have to drop like a weasel.

And then you have an entire side that is basically a no-go zone. If you don't have arty on your team against a supported flak you are utterly fucked.
