I dunno about infantry, but keep in mind that Riflemen suck. They are, by far, the worst infantry unit in the game and are worse than volks (for osme reason). If this game was historically-accurate riflemen would pwn king tigers.
Don't forget M10 tanks. They're Anti-Tank guns on wheels, are cheap, and are very useful. They're essentially beefed-up, faster, more agile STUG tanks that just have paper-thin armor. Very, very usefull. Get rid of teh bulldozers, they're never used. Put a crab flail on one of your regular shermans, its more of a *o shit, get out of the way infantry* thing when an enemy player sees one.

riflemen don't suck unless you keep them in red cover.
they are the most versatile unit in this game, for a reason, the allies don't get specific different infantry as base.

I personally, as an Axis player, love when people ignore putting bulldozers on anything. Can you say TT the map off? As an Allied player, I use them how they should be used and were used historically, to break through hedges and create new paths of advance.
Riflemen are terrible you say? Damn, guess i should tell mine that so they know to stop kicking ass.
M10's are a worse buy than ATGs for your AT needs, but if you have leftover fuel you may as well get a couple.

I believe more in fast raid assaults using infantry, support weps and tanks or carefully planned combined arms attacks.
Smg rangers and shermans are ideal.
Also rangers and riflemen work great together.

What I found fun to do was to fill the assault tab and infantry tab with 2 riflemen each all 8 platoons filled. The assault tab is a combo of 1 BAR and 1 Nade and the inf tab is filled with "Throw-away" rifles (had more in the core tab don't remeber though). And I would use the throw aways to wear down the enemy then late game when they have their KCH and perhaps the brunt of their main army no longer being used, I slap them with my elite troops and quickly push out the enemy infantry. I agree with the "no tank except crocs" saying that ppl are throwing out there, use ATGs with AP rounds and have atleast 4 of them and keep your eye on them.

Really bad advice here. Riflemen are all purpose with the right upgrades. I agree with you that m10s are great. You really need m10s just vs the ostwinds alone. I wouldnt rely heavy on ATG unless your playing defense or something. For AT try combining stickies/m10s. Sorry croc bulldozer is a must just for the HP increase alone...if you feel the need to use a croc. If you have a sufficient amont of bars and nades thats really all the AI you need. You also might want to avoid upgrading your rangers with SMGs just because if you lose 2 men out of a squad you can no longer shoot zooks.

Kay I only upgraded one ranger squad with smgs for infantry. I feel I don't have enough tanks for infantry support. 2 Shermans,& a Croc.

I have a call in of 3 rangers with SMG upgrade that I find pretty useful. it's more of an "Oh shit!" call in because it can deal with infantry well and armor well. Every time I think of taking them out because damn, that's a lot of munitions sunk into them, they raise hell and save my ass in the game.
Wait why the hell are these threads in general discussion? All these help threads should be under tactics and strats... oh I see why... *looks at thread starter*

I dont like croks much partly because of the cost and their inability to perform as AT, i prefer shermans.
I dont rely on rifle spam also, mainly because i dont trust them much.
On a different note, with the infantry doc i can use similar tactics as how im playing axis which i cant do with the other docs.
