lol. 24 hours and 5 battles later, and i'm already infamous. to be fair, the lag was enough to warrant kicking your friend, but i'll admit that perhaps it is just a bad habit formed from other games. it was not used as a "omgwin" button, i can assure you. if you look at my record, i am 0-5. there has been no use of "drophacks", so either relic online is to be blamed or i should try to find opponents who better match me geographically.

this was actually the first real battle (since 1v1s don't count) that i played, and as such i was still in the vcoh mindset (hence the lack of difficulty for one experienced eir player to beat 2 new eir players). we actually jumped right in without looking at the manual or anything like that, and i didn't set up my division very well. through defeat i've been able to understand how to play eir better, and i'll refrain from votekicking anymore. i apologize.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the darkness at Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.

If there is very very very very bad lag then ask for an abandon before the game gets going (past the 10min mark).

i'll be sure to start doing that, thank you. what exactly was the force button for? was that to accept your report or deny it? i hope i did that right, it was my second battle, i believe.

force is like the same as abandon. say you're long into the same and something like what happened to me happens. I coulda chose to force the game and let the "computers" sort out the results of who won.

Abandon means you totally abandon it and everything goes back to the way before the game therefore u can choose to re-host or get another player. Also i dont think the lag was that bad i've had worse trust.

maybe i'll just have to get used to it, usually when we played online there was hardly any lag. either way, i wasn't trying to get an easy win. you could have quit and abandoned/forced and i would have accepted.

You just can't be too sure these days, if everything desynced before unlimited was kicked I would have abandoned or done a remake, but since we were playing on and then everything froze and then go disconnected I was a tad suspicious.

It is probably because both u and your brother are playin (I assume it is the same connection) so there will be occasional pauses while the router catches its breath. One thing you will learn from EiR is that you need a shitton of patience (waiting for game, waiting ingame, lag waits and so on)

Well I appologize for any suspicions.
I live in germany, so if you have a bad connection ( and I assure you mine is brilliant) I recommend finding people in you area.
The problem with CoH is that it's not Player to Host /player to Server, but p2p, and that way, if YOU lag (and our complete team got the message you lagged) we will start lagging for you, so you can actually kick us for lagging yourself.
That possibility is one of the reasons you get bad reputation for kicking, you can force wins by lagging others out.
Everything that is abuseable is frowned upon.

if only it were client-server, because i have 1mbps up as a host. again, just something i have to get used to. i hear relic is fixing a lot of the connection issues in the balance beta?

and as far as your team saying i was lagging, our team was saying one of you was lagging. so i guess there really is no way to tell who is really lagging. we all have pretty good connections, except for MAYBE my brother. (10m down/1m up for me)
