Dude, the swastika is simply the symbol of a political party/army. Now, all who are offended by it need to get over themselves, and probably stop playing CoH if they're so offended. o.0

When did the Swastika start representing an army?

Since all uniforms, helmets, equipment, etc of the Wehrmacht carried that eagle w/ swastika Wink.

Either way, bleh, let's not go political.
It's just a symbol, the iron cross has a swastika in it too.

I still think you could have used something else  Huh  Although you and I may not mind using it, some people might not like it.  Safer>sorry

That would actually be the Hindu svasti. The swastika is a backwards version.

Make it a small & wider banner, then it's less noticable but still there and people won't complain as much, and it'll look even better AND save us some bandwidth. -> win/win

= Everyone happy

It's the symbol of the reich, the imperial eagle ( a long time symbol of Germany's) with a swastika. Symbolizes nothing more than Germany from the 1930's-45.

Woot, unknown for general!

Nothing more (/sarcasm)?

If this is nothing, then the american firebombing of tokyo was nothing more than an aggressive attempt to destabilize Japanese industrial capacity. The Japanese treatment of Nanking was simply a forced internment of Chinese citizens with slight resistance, and the Halocaust was, in the simplest sense, the internment of 6 million Jews and God-knows-how-many-Russians/Homos/Gypsies in order to boost the German economy.*

Unknown as the Axis General...he is pretty good at EIR...unless HeroicCompany or Golradier show up, he has my vote.

*Actually, this definition makes sense in a twisted sort of way.

1: Nazi Germany needed money to finance a war.
2: Jews controlled and had quite a bit of wealth (as a generalization)
3: People were generally antagonistic towards Jews.
4: Jews made up a minority of actual manpower for the war effort.

Therefore, Hitler blamed them for everything in order to build up support for his party, and subjected them to "relocation" (cough cough) in order to finance the war effort. This was certainly not justifiable in this situation, but was one hell of a political/economical strategy.

And back to the topic. Unless someone better than Unknown shows up, Unknown has my vote.

I find the topic funny.  You can take any symbol and look at its good and bad sides.  Take the star of David, or the Swastika.  Hell the peace symbol even has more to it than just being a symbol of peace.  Pentagram(sp) ooo its the sign of the devil...but not really, it started out as something else and has over time became what people associate it with.

Same thing with the rebel flag.

So like someone else said, get over it.

Which is why you shouldn't use the swastika.

So...if I were flying a rebel flag I should stop because people dont like it?  Perhaps Im flying it because I am proud to live in the south not a "racist."

Or

A Junior High should be renamed because our mascot was a "Rebel" and that is "bad" and we want to forget the history of our nation?

Just because something was deemed bad at some point in history does not necisarily (sp) mean it has to stay that way.

I see someone else either works at night or is up really really late.

My point is, everyones view on symbols is quite different than others.  The movie wasnt as good as the book but a very good example of this is "The Davinci Code," the part where the professor is giving his lecture.

I'd hate to lock this since it's getting out of hand.

Just adjust the signature's size to a smaller more professional banner looking type thing or add an iron cross, I don't care Smiley.
Thats the best solution as we don't want to end up pissing people off with swastika's.

(I personally don't mind but if certain people are offended by it, we have to heed the call.)

In my opinion, it's not necessary to have the swastika on anything.  The iron cross is a much more suitable icon.  And while I realize it may not bother some, it does bother others and as a result shouldn't be used.
