For those who don't know, Interplay went out of business so the developers of Freespace 1/2 released the source code. The community has done a really nice job so far and they've created over 100 custom campaigns, added in new mediavp files, and even created a grade A BSG mod. Look for Turey's Installer to start.

 i love freespace, never got a chance to do multi, anyone up for some games over hamachi tonight?  fs2 of course, fs1 was awesome but  iit's like fs2 took it a step up with the nebula clouds, and flak guns and stuff man...im feening for the game...


and as for fs2, um, i already had it lol i bought it along time go for 9.99 i'm lucky cuz it's hard to get now w/o spedning a boat load of money. oh no wait, i dind't buy it lol i got it when that one p2p program was really popular back when it all got really going and have had it on my computer since, anyone want it let me know so i can upload it somehwere, it's about 500mb

Look for Turey's Installer. It should handle just about all you need. It also includes several user-campaigns as well, though you'll have to dig further into the forums if you want to play some of the bigger ones such as Blue Planet.

Not only is the game free, it has been upgraded with new builds that keeps the graphics updated.
