Hello I am trying to start playing EIR and I have watched the video tutorials and I have used vent before but I can't seem to join your channel. Yes I did use the search function on your forums and I found noting that helped me. I put in the password sp4m that didn't help. I keep getting this error message.

Connected to server but unable to authenticate your login name and password. Make sure you entered the correct global server password or the password for your unique login name. You will be automatically banned if you try connecting with the wrong password several more times, so be sure you have the correct password before you try again. Passwords are case sensitive and must be completely retyped if you are making a change to it. The password will always be displayed as 8 (*'s or dots) even if the actual length of the password is shorter or longer then 8. You should also verify that you entered the correct IP address (or hostname) and Port number. If the port number is wrong you are connecting to the wrong server.

Maybe your trying to join vent with a name that is already registered to another player.

I have a slightly damaged key board and my print screen button dose not work. Oh and I am clicking on the tab just like they say to in the tutorial.

Okay I can join when I manually imput the data that is on your screen shot there but now when I join I am not a registered user I can't talk to anyone. when I click on the tab it put a bunch of old vent server info in it that does not work. So hum

ok, you say you have used vent before so you know about how to configure your mic etc, maybe the admins have made it so you need to be registered to do stuff... ask one of them to register you.

PM unkn0wn or salan. tell them what name you want what division your are in TLS (if your in it) and tell them what personal password you want (you will only need to input it once) that may help.

what do you mean "when I click on the tab"?

when you create a new server connection on vent it saves it and doesn't alter it.

Yeah do know how to configure my mic and stuff. I normally use TS but I have used Vent a few times.

don't click that tab, when you click it (after setting up the info) it will give you a box saying something about changing info or what ever, say no. or if no box comes up just don't use that link.

Thanks for posting that screenshot.  I just got back from Europe and was all "WTF!?!" when I suddenly could not connect to the vent server.  Hadn't realized the address had changed.
