I want to learn some of the computer based languges, scripts, codes and what not. I figured to start with C++. It's simple, been around for a long time and is still used today. HOWEVER. I have no idea what I need to start working with it. I've gone to the C++ website but I don't know where to input the information from the tutorials. Can someone HALP me?

C++ is old school.  Unless you plan to do hardcore games dev, go learn something like php, much more useful

Starting with C++? Do you want to burn out in 30 seconds?

Learn some Java then move onto C then C++.

Ok, that is actually what my dad had said (start with java) I suppose I was a tad too ambitious. I thank you Akranadas.

The good thing with Java is that there is a TONNE of tutorials online, making it much easier to learn backyard style than C or C++

Akra, I wasn't around when you left, but from what I get, people really do like you and regret you ever leaving whatsoever.

Silly boy, don't bother torrenting anything code related as most of it is Free.

http://www.bluej.org/

Learn on that, probably the best Java platform I've seen in some time.
