EDIT: Released! http://files.filefront.com//;7473448;/

black is gonna be a couple of fields and one or two building.green is gonna be a forested area (think slightly more dense then Beaux) and blue is gonna be a pond somewhere in there-i dont for sure what else is gonna be there, tbh.

"inside" the walls are gonna be a few buildings. near that garage (notice the excellent road making  Grin) is gonna be a house, with probaly a hedge or something.

its the smallest map size setting, but it has enough features to still make the fighting diverse and, i believe, interesting.

whaddayathink?

oh, and, can anyone tell me how to get my framerate up? its getting very choppy after i place some buildings.

i worked a bit on it today, and i found a way to get my frame rate to an acceptable level, so i have placed the actual manor. I have the same plans as before for the empty areas, but i changed the driveway, and i plan on making a road on the edge of the map, with the small lake accounting for the curve in the driveway.

here are the screen shots!

not much detail, but then its very early in map creation, so yeah.

does anyone know where Relic hides the SGA files for the standard maps? i have an unpacker, but i cant seem to find the maps themselves. i need inspiration for my highway/road.

You can extract the mapping folder with corsix and then view the relic maps in the worldbuilder.

theres nothing in there... i even ran a windows search (to include any hidden file) and there is nothing. i can see the custom maps though...

yes, i searched both the D and the C drive for them.

EDIT: i unpacked a custom map, but, for some reason, the frickin world builder wont recognize the CoH "project". WTF?

MAP IS ALMOST FINISHED!!!

all i have left to do is south of the garage, and some inside the "manor". And the OOB, of course.

Map overview... since last time, added road, forest, lake, farms...

The fields, in detail.

The forest, in detail (splines, splines, splines!!!).

The forest, viewed from the garage and house area.

The small beach, from the island in the middle of the lake.

An accident near the end of the driveway.

there you go! Cheesy

Assuming the manor is in the SW corner, I would recommend adding a wall to the West side of the manor.  Currently, you have some trees, buildings, and roads that stretch out of the playable area, but in the manor side it looks kind of bare.  Perhaps a wall along the west side with trees outside of it and then maybe some paths or sheds or something on the south side?

yeah, the OOB isn't done yet... to be fair, its the least of my wories right now.

for some reason, i cannot get the !*&"*&? game to start. the map loads, the hq+pios/engies are placed (standard CoH)... and nothing happens. same with EiR. could someone please, PLEASE look at my map and tell me whats wrong? i have absolutely not idea  i have tried adding mg nests, moving buildings, redoing territory... nothing works. HELP!

note: the version above is slightly outdated, so one or two buildings disappear since they are slightly OOB, but i fixed that, and it isnt what causes the bug.

How do you mean the game doesn't start?

What happens after loading up?

1) game loads
2) players are "in" (minimap is visible)
3) HQs, MG nests become visible (on your side, obviously, and only if its on vanilla CoH). same for pios/engies
4) nothing happens. its as if someone didnt load in, but i was on teamspeak while testing, and the other guy saw the same thing as me.

try it out in single player, the same thing happens.

Woops kinda forgot about this

Quite odd indeed.
Seems like something went wrong during the creation of the map.

Are you testing with EiR or SP?
Do you have map entry points set?
Do you have map starting positions set for an equal amount of players on both sides?
Bunkers/etc for starting areas are not needed unless your map is also serving as a vCoH map.

Look over your map in the worldbuilder, try to spot "odd" things within it, things that aren't supposed to be there. Maybe you accidently added an invisible/bad prop thats causing it.

If not, try re-extracing all of the files (with the export function).
