Ok, so not totally random, but here goes.

I was thinking about how turns are currently detailed as being implemented. The current thought is there will be 1 turn in roughly a week with a set amount of CP given out and resources (partially based on map control?)

This also has brought up discussions about how we would go about coordinating games against other players on the map.

Some folks would like to have a totally scheduled system when you plan things ahead on a calendar.

Others like to be able to jump on whenever and play.

The million dollar question is which do we go with of course.

First let me talk about the whole turn system. I realize it's all still in developement but here me out.

What if instead of a weekly system, we went to a daily and by this I mean for the resources and for the cp, the amounts would have to be adjusted of course from the current weekly values to daily ones but this would help with what I suggest next.

Although scheduling battles has worked for some games and systems I truely belive that it is a pain in the arse. People are flaky, seriously, especially gamers :-P and RL happens as well. You can't always count on people to show up to thing, but that shouldn't stop you from being able to play something.

What I propose is a mix of scheduling and of free form play. Scheduled battles (which could be arranged on the fly by opposing teams) would make stakes for terrtories and such, the victors would take over the territory and the losers would lose said territory, just as normal.

The second thing I propose which is the on the fly system, would be again setup via the website on the fly, but be considered a front battle, and would not be targeted against a specific territory. In these battles you would still gain veterancy and lose troops like normal. These battles would represent the action that occured outside the 'major' conflict sites where company's would bump into each other and skirmishes would ensue.

You might ask why one would choose to fight these battles, well obviously you can hurt the enemy by killing troops, you can also gain veterancy that you wouldn't get from just fighting territory battles (as there will likely be less territory battles)

Another incentive I am proposing is a CP reward for fighting battles. I would reduce the per turn amount automatically granted and then set a max CP reward you can earn say per week for fighting battles, where the winner gets x amount and the loser gains y (a smaller number) this will encourage people to battle.

This is all going under the assumption that you can only fight territory battles with people adjacent to your territory, otherwise the front battles aren't any different.

I have some more details, but I hope this gives a good overall picture of what I'm suggesting.

We are actually working on completely redoing most of the ideas we had for the warmap Smiley.

I had heard some talk about it, but just thought I would toss out some ideas since, well although I know your working on it, we don't have any real details of what is being discussed/considered.

Anyways just my 2 cents!

Actually that didn't mean it was not welcome, quite the contrary.

I just didn't really take the time to read it in detail due to my headache atm but I will surely do so soon as it might aid us in the development, who knows! Smiley.
