I'm going to be getting about four hundred dollars pretty soon, and I'll be purchasing one or two video cards so I can play again. What do you guys thing?

8800GTS

or

8600GTS x2

Either one will work amazingly well. I don't know if I want to get power right off that bat and get dual 8600GTS', or go with the 8800GTS, and save up for another for SLi at a later date.

You've probably seen this but check this out...

I'd go with the 8800GTS as it's about 2x the performance but not 2x the price (although the ones you linked have a greater disparity then most.)

Ooh. 8800GTS it is. I forgot about that. And still room to buy another.

I find it funny how ATI is supposed to be the uber for high res gaming, whilst the 8800GTS has a better FPS than the Radeon in higher resolutions. Lawlerskates.

I'd merely like to point out that the Radeon is an entire generation behind the G80 series.  Wait for the R600 series to come out, then compare the two.
