I've really been looking forward to playing this mod, as I think the concept is fantastic. However, upon trying to load up the latest version (1.6d), I am met with the following:

error : 5 Error Code : 20

My freind is also having exactly the same problem. The only common cause that we can see as a possibility is the fact that we connect to the net via a network. Another friend who did manage to install successfully was directly connected to the net. It looks like the installer is currently unable to negotiate a simple network.

Please fix this, as we a re dying to play this Wink.......

You can download & install it manually @:
woops wrong version, see below

As a temporarily solution.

Same can be done for the battle files, after creating the battle, simply click the battle number (in the battle tab of the War Control Panel, where you have the list of battles) and it will allow you to download the "battlefiles"

Then extract these to your main CoH folder. (And should automatically overwrite, place & install in the EiR folder)

I use a network without an issue.  It is most likely a firewall issue.  Phil will probably respond and tell you what to do.  If not, you can always download your battle files manually using the control panel.

Unkn0wn, gave you the wrong link; that's an old version.  Latest is available here:

Also, when you install it manually, you don't use the Launcher to launch the game, use the other icon which is located in your Start Menu.

Thanks for the help, guys. We'll try again later. As far as a firewall goes, it is completely disabled on my PC and the server only has the normal Windows XP firewall (which is set to allow everything)?? Not sure about my friend though; I shall have to ask.

No, windows isn't set to allow everything.  You'll have to add the EiRlauncher.exe as an exception so that it can go through.

Hmm I wish I could reproduce this ugly thing. The windows firewall shouldn't be able to stop it.. It doesn't on my computer. But Microsoft stuff is always unpredictable. Won't hurt to try I guess.

Unfortunately until I get my hands directly on a computer with this problem I can only guess at the cause and can't even test the random changes that I've been trying.
Here is the latest version that I've been playing with:

PS.
Mods, please move threads like this to the proper forum. I've been busy lately and only had time to check for new posts in the tech support forum.
