Bored of seeing tanks have sex and infantry shooting each other in close quarters for minutes. Maybe the weapons and site range increase by 50-100% could change it?

Dear Boarbard, cant help you with that and i am really sorry for you.

And if you like to discuss issue without sarcasm, i can tell that some doctrine abilities  increase site range for support weapons (one axis t4 even up to 40%) so technically it is possible.

Some tanks perform better at max range, learn to use them that way.
And just wait till the firefly comes in.

You can't just increase ranges because you're bored of it. Even if you increased the value ranges of units, unit effectiveness would stay at it's old statistics.

Units are generally in place for a reason.. You could increase the weapon range on rifleman w/ bars.. volks w/mp40.. knights cross.. anything with an SMG and sure it'll shoot farther.. but you can't kill anything unless you're in close quarters which is how those units were designed.

As for tanks.. if you increased weapon range on tanks, well Blitz with it's already 10-20%.. you'd be seeing a Tiger fire as far as an AT gun. That's the last thing the allies need. Also... tanks like sex.

It's a desgin choice. Due to the Screen of the average user being 800x600 Relic needs to accomidate for that majority more than the minority of other users with higher resolutions. Weapons have a much smaller weapon and site range because being shot at from 4 screens away takes power out of the players hands in the sense that they can't control most of the variables and they are forced to constantly scan the actual map, rather than the mini map to protect their units.

Bascailly, they wanted to compress all the action to be had into a 800x600 screen and to do that they had to reduced ranges on most of the units to keep the action that needed to be microed on the one screen (section of the game field).

My point is to propose change which increase range (distance between fighting units) of battles. I am talking about site and weapons range increase for every unit at, tanks, mg, mortars... (maybe except shreks and rr). Main goal to do that is to get more WW2 battle view without sacrificing EIR action intensity.

I thought about it, but i mentioned before about German t4 doctrine which increase support weapons range drastically and it is not change game experience, so my suggestion - start from 50 proc increase on every unit site and weapons range (except shreks and rr).

...so way do we need EIR Balance Discussion?  Roll Eyes

actually, it would like receive questions and/or suggestions. General declarations that:
a) game is fine as it is
b) you not here for that long to remember how it is been worse before
don't help to improve game experience (talking about tank sex and hand to hand shooting)

Because many people believe that different aspects are unbalanced, or broken (IE: BARS too expensive, Volks too cheap, yadda yadda)

That being said.. many people are also idiots. And can't rationalize between balance and personal objectives.

meh, there's mods out there ethat do this. If you really want to play a true game where it does that, play battle of the buldge. At guns and tanks have long ranges. Pumas can get one shot by at guns...if it hits it.
