Vet Griefing
«
on:
January 07, 2009, 12:45:22 am »
I've been seeing a lot more of it by the axis side lately, chasing allied units off the field, and targeting a vet unit over maybe a more potentially damaging unit. It's really getting annoying and this game is a prime example. I ran m y sniper off the field, full health mind you and he used his Kch to run after it and kill it. This isn't the first time i've had a vetted sniper chased off the field. Anywho...onto the reply
In a fierce skirmish the 192nd Blitzkrieg (
Larslolapa
) and 181st Terror (
Dnicee
) divisions broke through our lines and captured more territory, pushing our 55th Infantry (
TheYaxisOfEvil
) and 798th Infantry (
KrazyTym
) divisions aside. We were not able to get out before the death toll was in the hundreds. It brings question to the decisions of the Commanding officers, who would let so many men perish all for naught. It is in times like this that we must have stay strong if we intend to win this war.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Shouldn't you be happy they decided to chase a vet sniper instead of targeting more damaging units? Snipers just die anyways, though it will hurt more on a vet infantry squad, since the vet is a lot more important.
Well it's their choice to do that. Annoying? Yes. But simply put, don't bring out what you are afraid to lose. If you're really annoyed go vet hunt them too

KCH don't travel faster than retreating snipers. Your own fault for retreating a sniper through the enemy's position rather than moving to a safe retreat position

did u watch the replay? the kch were in front of me, i ran him off before they got there so he wouldn't die and when i retreated, he clearly followed. I know it happens but it's still fucked up and I've noticed it's been happening more lately

That's not griefing. I mean comon, if I'd see a sniper vet 1 and upwards i would go for it and be sure it won't come back in another game.
If it's a vet 0 sniper i would consider following it, but then again it wouldnt be worth it.
Oh and Snipers are a very very very liked target by anyone. If people see one shooting their troops, they will throw tons of shit against you
Same with Calliopes, Howitzers, Stukas, Nebels, 88s and even Officers

even Officers
I once used my only strafe to kill an officer 2 minutes into a game... when it had just unleashed it's mortar barrage ^^

omg it's not about targeting the sniper, the sniper was FULL HEALTH and I saw the kch close and retreated and he followed the retreating sniper and kill it, it didnt' go through any lines. I've had snipers chased off my bikes and i've had vetted units chased by other units as well lately. I know I'm not the only one this is happening to.
and ii dunno if it's called vet grifing, dont care, its called something, maybe just being an ass and targeting vet whatever.
anyway, here's a video that i made of it for those not wanting to watch the reply.

So where did i say, that people care whether or not that unit is half health, full health or whatever?
Or are you complaining about the fact, that his KCHs were able to kill a retreating sniper on the move at medium distance?

Seriously man, it's a part of the game. Wouldn't you kill a sniper that's been harassing your troops extensively and has high veterancy, which when it gets to retreat will likely come back another game?
In addition, why would you honestly shoot at KCH (!) with a sniper that's unsupported and at such close range. You can't blame anyone but yourself for losing that sniper there. Did you honestly expect your sniper to live through that?

I'd have done the same thing. Not so much to kill the Sniper because he's a vet unit, but because he gives lots of tasty, tasty xp. Mmmm.

What Unknown said, What where you thinking? KCH take TWO shots EACH! from snipers! Also A sniper kill would only help the axis player to vet up faster why would he give up that opportunity?

any kill you get, takes his exp away and awards you what the unit is worth.
its worth the kill.. apex kills kittens before every game, why can't we kill units in game !
I still wish that retreat buff was gone, units need to die more often. desensitize the population to vet whoring!
