NO, I am not ready for reinforcements. I am not ready to play against brits again. Here's how I imagine brits are gonna play out, mark my words:

Brits on the defence - player rushes a bofors + 17 pounder at key location. Spam button tommies around these. Welcome to Road to Carentan completely locked down by a single or two 17 pounders.

Stukas? Tetrarch.
Infantry? Commando democharge blowing up your vet 3 guys.

Etc I could go on. Its probably not gonna be even close to how bad I imagine it, I'm just not very keen on fighting emplacements again. Its a completely different feeling to go up against a doomfort than a sim city because of the long range they start hitting you from.

Unless they reduced the range of the 17P, they have. I will show you the nastiness of the brits on the defence once EiRR is out.. Im gonna make my own "only-defending" type of brit company which will basically BREAK gameplay on some maps. But I will reserve ultimate judgement until later, when we have all played a couple of hundred games and start to get a real feel for it.

You can do that, and I'll show you how to smash them.

Do you want to know something even scarier? If you dig in, your dead. EIR, it fairly easy to take out the infantry guarding your emplacement, then mop up

emplacements aren't OP cuz they are easily flanked in eir (theres a reason why most brits like to play schelt) and being able to use nebels and stukas on emplacements and "burn them outta their rat holes" makes it a "fair fight" You guys keep looking to vcoh on whether eir:r w/b tough but you always forget that everything is available for you side at any moment!!! meaning basically, having issue with that 17 pounder attacking your tank? Mortar...sniper...nebel, stuka, infantry? and having artillery only on the RCA will make the commando and engineer side a lot more balanced in the eir environement.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

And you can't do that with flaks?

You decrewed a flak - lucky you, now they can just recrew it with a pio or something. I bet all those brit snipers will be pleased that they can snipe the flak.

A flak has a huge range, can turn on its own and does more damage.

Panzerschrecks, AT grenades, Walking Stukas, Incendiary Mortars, Flame Pios...all excellent counters to 17 pounders. It's when there's a combination of emplacements where you'll get in trouble, like a 17 pounder flanked by Bofors or MG nests. Then you're in a pickle. But I think with the pop cap and future balancing, it'll work out in the end more than vCoH.

I still hate the Brits, though. Tongue

or the allies can recrew the flak and get it for free

you have to prepare a big push that means croc+sherman+ infantry

you snipe the flak and move in

Uh, okay. Have fun with using the most obscenely expensive artillery in the entire game to counter some AT guns.

This, on the flip side, is more useful. While there are no teching costs in the way of defeating 17 lbers (it'll basically be like a giant "we're all in tier 4" fight) et c., there's also the fact that some of the key components of your stock "sim city" are in different doctrines...

But your point about "easily flanking" is total bollocks. Play RTC against two brits and tell me that you can easily flank emplacement spam...

i love how people say nebels and stukas are useless. My axis company is composed of 2-3 nebles on my rockert arty company and I love 'em. Get an officer to supervise and whammo, MUCH more useful than howie's and even callies, especially since all you need is one rocket to hit a house and b00m, everything in it is dead.

And I can guranatee you that I can beat a brit player on RTC when reinforcements comes out and i suck with axis. Ive played the beta and i know how much weaker they are compared to vcoh. they are easily decrewed with small arms. Anything with fire will totally rape emplacements, so i wehr always have a nebel in ur company for use vs brits and all pe incindeary rounds cuz those will total neutralize 17 pdrs and other emplacements.

also on rtc, you still have to turn 17 pds manually and 17 pdrs have no where near the range of an 88. Play as allies vs a well dug in 88 and you have no artillery, find out how freakin annoying that is. Play against TWO 88's like I have done once and it'll drive you bonkers. Hell, i couldn't get past the initial point because they rocket artied all my artillery, mortars, had bikes for snipers, hmg's and bunkers for infantry rush, paks for crocs/shermans. they had all their bases covered, its very difficult to do that with brits because for one, they dont have off maps, two, only RCA have artillery three, the hmg bunker can only fire in one direction, 4 bofers are really only good vs l ight vehicles, they can take out infantry but just not very effectively four, no cloaked units for the brits, 5 the sniper detection unit is a gunless vehicle. So to conclude

Wehr/PE + 88 + RTC > British Emplacements + RTC

88 kills infantry and weapons teams a lot better than 17 pounders too at range.

Brit emplacements are only really tough with Engineer doctrine as well. And they will take forever to be repaired too. Don't forget that shreks do more damage to emplacements than tanks or ATGs do.
