In terms of infantry availability can't all basic infantry units be combined for the purpose of availability?
Eg you can get 18 rifles, 18 combined total grens and volk, 18 tommies and say 24 panzer grenadier, tankbusters, assula grenadiers and luftwaffe infantry. (I'm not sure if assualt grens should be included)

Also I agree that airborne should be bumped up to at least 8 - its not really an airborne company with only 4 units in t.

I'm mostly a PE player and I agree, availability is borked for allies, 10 riflemen? plz

It should be 15 rifles
8 airborne
4-6 rangers
6 stormtroopers
6 assault grenadiers

I doubt there will be many people spending PP's on infantry, they die too easy and people want something more lasting for their 'money'. PP's will be spent on veterancy, resources, doctrines and so forth, and artillery I spose.

I would only spend PP points for arty units or tanks. Only infantry I would PP for would be Sturmtruppen

yes, 8 would be a minimum. it's pointless taking them in such small numbers, as they either get overrun too easily before doing their job, or you don't have any call ins left for late game

availability for rifles has been upped to 12 now. Not great but helps. and 6 in reserve.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

I think that PIAT sappers should have cloak fixed before the price is looked at. Unless cloak was already fixed, in which this post should be ignored.

I like the concept of availability.

"Encouraging" new players into template companies might be a good thing, it allows them to learn faster. Throwaway spam companies will be reduced (it will take quite a bit of effort to build one). And newbs will be able to differentiate their companies after they learn how to play.

And if veteran players have a couple units wiped out, availability kicks in, they have to spend PP, they tech slower. Which allows newbs to catch up. Sure, they might lose the game, but they'll win the war, so to speak...

The numbers do need tweaking, though.

also you can up it a further 5 if you purchase the infantry reinforcement.

And the comments about airborne.  I'm sorry but everyone making those comments are thinking of it in terms of the old doctrine.  Where it was only about airborne, where every buff and incentive was only towards having a full army of airborne.  That doctrine does not exist anymore, only the name atm.  Its just not easy to rethink things that have been set one way in the past.

Also please note that DOCTRINES themselves are not in, and availability gives us another option for doctrine unlocks.

Salan, A doctrine based completely on Airborne isn't that bad. It was cool going up against Airborne spam, unlike going up against TR or Dual rocket packs 3 Calli companies. It lead to completely different tactics, it was a spice of EIR to quote a tread earlier.

The goal is to have companies basically all be a the same with a tiny bit of flavor.

Its sad, but its how its going.

Reduction in spam also means reduction in customization and individual flavor of doctrines. You can't very well put in spam reducing measures and have doctrine abilities that only boost 4 units in your company...

But you can have doctrine abilities that significantly increase Availability of one unit (Airborne) while significantly reducing another (Rifles) thus giving that company something different and not allowing spam.
