I just thought of an old game I have called Hearts of Iron 2. It's basically a realtime grand strategy of WW2 in which you can play any country etc etc, if you havent played it i would recommend the demo. Well, anyway, the reason I thought of that game is because in many ways, the GUI and the grand strategy of that game seems like the ideal type of thing to base the grand strategy aspect of this on.  I'm not sure if that could be any help at all, but HoI is extremely moddable, and everything is kept in txt files, so it might even be helpful in terms of designing the browser version of EIR. Sorry if what I'm saying isn't too clear, I have only about 2 minutes to write.

Funny one of the first things i thought of when i heard of this mod was "Company of Heroes + Hearts of Iron 2? = Sweet!"

i said the same thing but they said COpy right infringment so im like ahhh....HOI2 with its battles played out in COH ould be so awesome

HOI2 is fun, but no RTS part makes me cry. This is why EiR is uber .

Yeah ive had HoI2 for some time now and its no picnic for the faint of heart. Great Idea and for the hard core it would be awesome but any new players would wet themselves trying to work it out

I really think a warmap based on HOI2's in a java applet would be fucking sweet. But that would be hard work.

I still play Hoi2 to this very day, there are some cool mods out for it.


I totally agree that the Hoi2's only let down was the lack of RTS, it cries out for it everytime i play lol.
