Have the same problem with my laptop running windows vista 32 bit with UAC turned off and admin privileges enabled. Don't suppose either of you 2 have that set up?
Some other post here someone figured it was a .NET Framework problem.

Alright, couple questions:
1. When is this happening?
2. Could you attach a DxDiag report?
(To create DxDiag go: Start -> Run -> Type in dxdiag -> Click "Save All Information")

Step out of the way. He'll keep going until he hits a wall, that being Akranadas. Let him go unmolested, his journey will take less time.

Have the same issue, cant run on my laptop. Windows Vista 32.
You can do nothing, as soon as you double click the EIR Shortcut you get the "EIR has stopped working" error.

Download and install the XNA 2.0 redistributable. Get that HERETry to open the launcher again, see if that helps.

Don't think that's gonna work. Just installed the new EIRR installer on my laptop. Updater works fine, but client crashes same as the others.
I don't think it's a simple problem like not installing XNA, because a while back (with quite new versions) when I tried to join into the EiR:R alpha, I had this problem. EIRRMod actually took direct control of my laptop via remote control to fix it. And he couldn't.
Well at least I can play it on my desktop =D

For anyone having this problem, do two things. 1. Run this program... HEREThis will tell fix you if you have a bad .NET, XNA, or DirectX install. 2. If that program says you're good to go, download and install the Games for Windows Live Redist HEREThis helped Osprey and Rayze, hopefully works for everyone else as well.

You shouldn't have to. Just install in, when it finishes installing, try to run the AutoUpdater and launch again.
