My first mapping contribution to the EIR scene.  Working on redoing the Vanilla maps so they are functional for our use.

The first project:

6p_Mcgechaens_War_EiR.sga

http://files.filefront.com/6p+Mcgechaens+War+EiRsga/;13335659;/fileinfo.html

-3 spawns per corner of map
-water on the south (german) side of the map has been removed and ground made wider so it can not be camped as easily.
-left side of german camp has been opened up (bushes) so that they are not hedged in and have longer travel times.
-A lot of sectors have been reworked, and will be balanced with testing.

THIS IS NOT ADDED TO MODULE YET, to play it you must edit the module and add the entry before launching game, will have it added to test.

module line:
archive.58 = EuropeinRuins\Archives\6p_Mcgechaens_War_EiR

overhead showing the pink spawn points!

Where you would head north out of the german starting area, down the dip through the water..

Where you would head west out of the german starting area, down the dip through the water.  bushes on the left are trimmed back, use to extend pretty far.

My initial testing from this game:
http://forums.europeinruins.com/index.php?topic=8086.msg142383;topicseen#new

noted the following:

Mcgechaens map offers a UNIQUELY different battle to EIR.  It has very tight lanes of advance, but is not limited by choke points.  Meaning while you are more 'herded' then in a lot of maps teh amount of choices on routes to go makes up for it.

Hedge rows are an advantage to both assault troops and all indirect fire.  Assault troops will close a lot closer while being out of fire then they would in a open field.

Long shot range 88s and such need to be placed carefully and are easily ignored/flanked if they are not well maintained (ie knocking down hedge rows).

Mortars/artillery and riflenades will have a much higher effect on game play in this style of play.

The number of sectors for both attacking and defending felt correct, as did their sizes and borders.  (will need more testing)

I'm pretty sure you have to ask relic about this. The maps came in the game, and they might not take a good light of you modifying them.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

What people seem to forget in their understanding of Maps for COH is that relic has actual ownership over every single map we make.  Once you make it, you don't own it.

So really, why would they care about a map that they own ... and if it gets more people playing it... oi

I love this map.  Tons of ways to flank, hedgerows that you can breakthrough with heavy crush, very tactical.

Probably the best 3v3 eir map IMO.

With nothing but positive feedback, the only thing left for me to do on this map is put in more weather options... then I believe it fits the final list.

and no unknown your personal desire does not matter to me Wink
