I've tooled around with the idea for sometime and finally decided to play with it.

May possibly see this through if there is enough clamor for it.

spawning on the beaches .. or make the water go really far out as red cover so you can spawn farther out and have to 'advance' in wards.. oh the pain

how big is the island?

is it big enough to have the attackers spawning on all 3 sides of it?

ie:  1 in the north beach, 1 in the south beach ,and perhaps 1 on the east cliff face / beach ..

you would need to make enough passes through the east side for them to get up reasonably, as well as walkways so they could get around to join the other beaches if needed.


would be more beneficial having the defenders spawn in the middle of the map surrounded then make all the attackers come from one angle and be bogged down and destroyed by the beach head.

Sounds like an interesting idea; Only Issue I believe would be spawn arty.  Currently the map dimensions are:

Playable -  width 576   height 480

Would be interesting if it could be coded somehow to have reinforcements roll in on higgens craft and land @ beach spawn points haha.

you would probably need to move the spawns out to sea, and have a red water area they need to cover.. that way the defenders would be able to get closer to the beach.

Might be to much but it definitely would be different eh

Yeah go for it.  Then when off map US battleship arty sweeps the beachhead and surround it'll make for a nice easy beachlanding with no return fire.
