Codename Panzers Series

Anybody ever play this game?
I bought it a few years before COH, and find it to be very similar to EIR. The Panzers series features 5 factions (US, British, Italian, German, Yusgolsavian partisans), and units gain experience up to 10 levels. Players form their armies before the battles begin (no resoure collection or structures to build in game).
Combat is centered around Armor with artilery and infantry support, as well as numerous off map abilities. Infantry can be equipped with varius items, such as magnetic mines, binoculars, inflatable rafts, grenades, flame throwers (useful for forcing tank crews out of their tanks to be commendeered later by your forces), etc.
One of my favorite features is having the ability to remove tank and artillery crews from their equipment and being able to tow artillery around with troop transports and ammo/supply trucks. Also, all buildings can be entered and destroyed, once inside a building you can actually see inside it and move your troops around the interrior; moreover buildings actually block line of sight. Another this is no cloaked units--if you want to be sneaky, then you could change the stance of your unit to crouched or prone, however, if enemy units come with in a certain range, they could be spotted.
Anyhow I thought EIR players may be interested int Codename Panzers since it is very similar to EIR and strikes a good balance between realism and fun.

No Russians?
l4m3
At least Blitzkrieg had Sovietz in it and they were c00l.
I heard some stuff from my friend who told me that the Flamethrower was like OP weapon in the serie. As you said force troops out from the tank due to heat level increasing. As well heard that there's nothing to stop those guys from doing xD He told me that he had a lot of trouble killing those flamethrower units...
How realistic is it? Does it have accurate ranges and so on?

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

Are you on crack, the Russians were there too!
I used to play Panzers with a buddy of mine. KV2 Spam was awesome with repair trucks and ammo trucks!

I never used flame throwers: it tooktoo long to heat up a tank and they actually were easy to kill, both the infantry and armored fighting vehicle versions. I only have Codename Panzers: Phase 2, maybe Phase 1 had the Soviets? There is a Phase 3 coming out featuring the Soviets too.
As far as realism, I think it's more toward the realism than COH, but I can't say for sure since I have no knowledge of actual ranges, etc. Squads are based on actual squad sizes, such as a sniper squad having a sniper and spotter in one unit. However, your tank could run out of ammo so you had to supply them with supply and repair truck, unless you could capture a supply depot, although even supply/repair trucks and depots had their limits too.
One nice thing about Panzers was it showed the range of each unit on the map.

Panzers wasn't /that/ realistic. Moreso than CoH, but not /really/.
If you want realistic, try "Theatre of War"
Tanks can shoot all the way across the map (800+ meters, easy.), accurate gun ranges, armor penetration, deflection ratios, crews sights and views through their vision slits, individual units are all represented with their own stats, an RPG equipment system, limited ammo for guns, and NO reloading on the field (which couldn't be done, as ammo had to be carried through the open top of a tank's hatch, which was a time consuming and dangerous process on the field)
Fortunately, fuel isn't represented.

Combat Mission
"
Fixed.

"I want proof!"
"I have proof!"
"Whatever, I'm still right"
Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Combat mission was more realistic than games above (I played panzers and thing that I liked there was moving at gun on truck and deploy whenewer you want without losing mobility) I still remember when my 3 shermans died to tiger with wounded crew member (fourth was immobilized).
