Arn't the sappers supposed to stay camoed for several shots? That's what the description says and thats how I recall it working in vCOH. Sort of like crappy brit paks.

Currently the Sappers seem to reveal on the first shot.

Can't comment, didn't use PIAT ambush much in vCoH or EiR:R, but from:

http://www.coh-stats.com/Infantry:Sappers

Effects: PIAT Ambush will enable PIAT armed Sappers to enter camouflage when using cover. They'll be able to fire several shots before being detected. — See Ability:PIAT Ambush for details.

The biggest problem with PIATs as combat units are that they come on builder units.

as far as I know, piat sappers don't uncloak until they move. But turning for more than 15 degrees while cloaked is looked at as a "move" so they instantly uncloak if they want to face a unit they're targetting. Though, I don't have too much of a problem with that personally.

Can PIATs enter ambush mode while in combat? I saw it done to me. If so, then it'd go a long way to making PIATs viable.

You can ambush mid-combat, yes Wink.

That's decent then. Makes them viable defensive AT. As for offensive AT to chase down enemy tanks, well, that's another matter, eh.

We're planning on giving them jetpacks.
