200-250 APM is basically 3-4 clicks a second. That sounds like clickspam to me(it's a matter of taste, though).
Sure, there's a lot of tactics/strategies in Starcraft, and I won't argue with you which one of them is better, as you clearly know more than me(I was ever only a casual player).
My point is, though, is that starcraft, even being an awesome game, is not nearly as tactical as CoH, or a lot of other games, and that it features quite too much clickspam for me to ever think otherwise. In a 1v1, the one with the better perfected build algorythm and faster ability to charge his mass of units(higher APM) would win, rather than the better microing player.

It isn't a matter of taste. Simplifying SC's 200-250 APM to "spam" would be like simplifying COH APM to "interactive movie"; it doesn't compute. "Spam" involves pumping out more, in exchange for more. APM in SC simply doesn't work like that, as I've stated twice already. There's a difference between "fast" and "spam".

I've already addressed build algorithms. But it's impossible to discuss anything further without the following being done first:

Download a cracked/pirated version of Starcraft*. Download ICCUP. Play a couple dozen games*. Watch GomTV.

*Please, just buy a copy, it costs less than $10. And don't expect to win many games for the first season or so.

That's all I can say about the above comments without getting irritated. Plus, it will be good practice for SC2.

For some reason, Valve is losing to Turbine.

SC had no "cover" in the way COH does. But taking advantage of the map (high ground, narrow passages, shit like that) was definitely very critical.

However, building a perfect base, as quickly as possibly, will always be a part of RTS games. That's why I prefer RTT.
Actually, SC did have a cover system. Ranged fire on a unit up a ramp creates a chance to miss.

I didn't say it didn't have any at all =) I know the advantage of high ground (% to miss, and you can't see up there). From what I know cover means something a little different in COH. Like hiding behind trees and shit =P

You do realize that Jungle Terrain in Starcraft, for one, grants cover?

And trees. And high ground. Fairly advanced for a game from 1998 :p

We are serious about enforcing this, and I am sure you all want to be able to have your balance thought considered by the development team with some biased, sensationalist coming into your thread and ruining it.

I bet if this same poll were released after a major Blizzard release (SC2 Diablo3) they would get more votes. The number of posters there who were like "OMG I love DOW 2 FOR LIFE!" was amazing.
