I don't think americans have fought in the eastern russia where the weather was shit and the roads impossible to use by mechanized companies.

unfortunetely i would have to agree with bubz here. when the weather turned in the eastern front even the Panzers stopped rolling.

The Russians kicked Germany's ass with their huge fleet of American built lend lease trucks and their few railways.

In August Storm the Russians railed all the way over from Germany, marched over the Mongolian desert(which was half the size of Europe), far away from their railroads and crushed the Japanese in a few days.

Germans just had fail logistics compared to everyone else in WWII.

Evidence to support your claim?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_August_Storm

The Russians attacked Manchuria in a pincer manuever the size of western Europe with one and half million men, marching far away from their railroads through deserts and mountains and crushed the Japanese army in a week.

Germany couldn't even mount a successful campaign in Egypt.   North Africa was a miserable failure even though they had Italian battleships pulling escort duty for their supply convoys through the med.   The fuel and ammo just kept piling up at dock because Germany's fail based logistics system couldn't get them to the front.

The resources were probably piling up because the Brits were sinking the ships and the Luftwaffe can only airlift so much in a day.

Someday you should try transporting fuel and munitions for 200 tanks across enemy water.

And Rommel sure made do with what he had.

I heard enough times in my college history class about the allied shipping being on the brink due to uboats.  wonder how many we could have lost and still managed.

War is a terrible thing, but it is not the most terrible of things. Never forget that.

Watching that vid its not like Company of Heroes where tanks take about 11 shells of fire. 2 shells and that panther is out.

Well, it depends on the size and velocity of the shell, the panthers armor might resist loads of low velocity hits but would probably die from the first hit that a super pershing sent it's way.

The difference is, in real life the hard part was penetrating the target, Tigers could take dozens of shells from most things and not be phased, but something that could penetrate even a single hit could destroy or disable.

I don't think I would like to be in a tank taking fire, even if there not penetrating.

Non-penetrating shots can cause an inner debris field inside the tank, pretty much causing a "canister shot" effect onto the crew of the tank. Probably worse than to explode and die instantly.

37 mm shells still count as shells ;P. Give him a few 85 mms, and that bitch will disintegrate quick.

Yeah it's called Spalling ansd it's more fo a killer for tank crews then anything else. Just remember there was a time when tanks were rivetted together...
