Sherman Croc has no accuracy penalty vs any type of infantry. It doesn't even have a moving accuracy penalty. And the only received accuracy modifers most infantry get are at vet 1. and only by 15% at most. That's still 77% chance to hit at all ranges with a weapon that has no reload.. so it's applying the accuracy over and over and over. Not "Okay.. I have this flame stream going, I'm missing, but because I can't stop firing due to no reload I won't ever hit them."

The range buff would be more beneficial, I do agree. It just looks stupid ie churchill croc.

and my argument is the accuracy buff is not a waste, which is also correct, that extra chance to hit can be the difference between life and death for the croc.

Fair enough. It's not a complete waste, no. I feel a range buff though instead would possibly allow them to be used more conservatively and possibly live longer.

I thought the issue was that its a suicide vehicle that you can only get 1 of....I could be wrong. Combine it with another unit to cause damage, then get the crits with the Croc.

Other than that, its your only unit besides a Pershing that can heavy crush.
i think AmPM's right, two crocs should definetly kill medikit grenadiers. Cheesy

If you're insinuating KCH and Grens can't take down rifles then you sir are sadly mistaken.

I would think he was sarcastic and meant it in a "no shit, sherlock" kind of way, not that the units are not capable of defeating the rifle squad Wink.

Croc is fine, Vet needs some tuning though. But medkits won't help, i saw a croc instantly kill a HMG that just popped medkits.

People don't use them often because they rely on quads. But as axis fanboy i can tell you i hate those crocs Shocked

I never worry about crocs. They go down to shreks super fast, pushing around means the turret goes crazy, red cover negates the whole tank, medikits stops it from taking down infantry with shreks. It can be blocked by bikes or other light vehicles you normally have hanging around and it cant harm light vehicles or destroy pak weapons. Its also the highest population cost dedicated anti infantry in cover vehicle in the game.  PzIV which is the most reasonable comparison can engage light armor and destroy at guns after decrewing them, making its high pop cost more defendable. Please look at all the limitations of the unit when you consider its current power and veterancy tables.

Elitegrens storm troopers sat for 10-20~ seconds with medikits on taking full croc fire, not a single member dead and tank destroyed. Its not the first time but its the most recent example I have of the croc being shit.

Its only recently I have been trying to get crocs to work again, and its just sad how bad it performs. Yes it burns up defenseless volks really well, but if there's any kind of AT around you have to micro it in such a way that its killing power goes down to something slightly above zero.

Look at quads, pumas, flammenwerfers, armored cars, the PzIV support tank.. these things actually kill while the croc just farts out some flames and then dies. It's pathetic.

Turret rotation should be a vet 1 or 2 thingie since this is a really crucial veterancy improvement for the unit. Damage should also give come much sooner. Put a Health 1.2 with a received penetration 0.85 at vet 3 instead, to give it staying power.

Sketch:

Vet1: Speed 1.2
Vet2: Turret rotation 1.2, Damage 1.2
Vet3: Health 1.2, Received penetration 0.85, Range +3

its all about luck with flame units, dont complain about crocs (they seem to be harder to kill than shermans for me) or medkits-.- if squads are und zero or red cover its pretty hard to kill with flamers or a croc, thats usual

Comparing it to Quads, ACs and Pumas right now is a mistake considering that little bug everyone is exploiting...

Sherman Croc needs a range increase with veterency, maybe +5 each level.  Right now the Churchill croc has sniper range with its flamethrower, and a dedicated flame machine should be better than the churchill's addon flamer.

The Churchill Croc is a dedicated flame machine, its also much more expensive, and a doctrine unit.

Its also incredibly slow.

WTT shitty Churchill Gun for speed and flame turret!

Is Akranadas in this thread? Fucker can't stop bragging about his "waifu taldeer" and cosplaying in an eldar farseer costume while shouting "Flithy monkeighs!" interspaced with random eldar gibberish.

you can get anything to vet 3 with luck/skill

i had a vet 3 bergetiger (in vcoh, admittedly) because I managed to crush a lot of people with it and keep it alive. Doesn't mean the bergetiger is fine in combat. I have a vet 2 vanilla engineer squad (no flames/mines) off of sheer luck on my US account, doesn't mean they're all that good at combat either.
