The Gewehr 43 actually kicks less than an M1 Garand; muzzle velocity plays a big role in recoil, and one thing the M1 Garand has is alot of velocity. This is advantageous because penetrating power and range is superior, however it also causes the weapon to kick harder. So Company of Heroes simulates this well; the Gewehr does more damage because the 7.92mm round is larger than the 7.62mm round, but also because of balance. The argument that the Gewehr 43 is a better weapon than the Garand and so boosting the Garand's RoF would not affect balance is invalid, because a PG Squad gets 2 Gewehr 43s, while a Rifleman Squad has 5 M1 Garands. If you cannot understand that difference then I don't see reason to listen.

As far as I know, the entire squad, including the leader gets the G43 when you get the upgrade. Maybe in theory it is not like that, but In practice I'm pretty sure I see the entire squad unloading with G43s. Will test when I can.

And as Elite Gren and I said. 2 Gewehr 43s, not 4. You're thinking MP44s.

The cloaking thing i find that annoying, Imean what infantry in ww2 could cross a open field completly invisable to enemies and then go around them when there 10 yards away and blow up your preist. when, when did that ever seem realistic?
And the pak! after a round is fired you would surly be able to spot it with sound alone! 'oh look theres a pak round thats just blown up our sherman support but screw it we canny see it anyway' Last words of private mcscotty who was killed by a armoured car becuase he and his squad couldn't find the pak becuase they couldnt be arsed to trace the round or sound!

When could infantry see through houses to get line of sight for a mortar unit?
When did tank MGs not cut through infantry like any other MG?
IF you want to talk realism, this is the wrong place.

Really, including the Hull and Coax MG? They should all be the same as the MG42 or .30cal.

IF you want to talk realism, this is the wrong place. That can be sorted, and wouldnt change a thing becuase if you use your common sence you can see were the mortor smoke is coming from. Mgs on tanks ned to be balanced, its diffrent to a cloaked pak after its shot 10 rounds from the same posistion. What im saying is how can cloaked paks 6 pounders, and aussalt and tankbuster grens be possible, i mean how come commandos arnt cloaked?

BTW in keeping with some conversations I've had since posting this I'd like to reiterate that I do know that this is a game and if one wants more of a simulation there are products like Theater of War 1 and 2 by 1C (sold through battleground.com.) there's also Shock Force which simulates modern warfare at the squad lvl in the mideast and the Close Combat series 1-6 I think. ToW and Shockforce both depict combat along the lines of CoH style graphics and of course CC series is a top down version. They are truly more simulations than CoH. Where they fall down is that they are only 1v1 I think (ToW may offer more) and have a weaker matching service. More importantly CoH is infinitely more mod friendly than ToW and ShockForce and the great selections of mods/maps is one of the main attractions of CoH to me. I've got like 3-5 versions of CoH each with a different mod. Very cool. (and ya I am a dork too ) I guess despite the fact that CoH is a game first I'd just want it to be a little more accurate in it's depiction of combat at the squad/section and tank level. So while modeling each garand fer instance is mebbe a bit silly the overall effect of them might be modeled better. Again I know some of this is in the pipeline already so I am not trying to flog the poor devs any more than they get already by our loving community In any event I am really a hoot with EiRR and my observations are more to improve a great thing than to knock it down. (thump as i get pushed off soapbox!) NCOIC out!
