How about giving him a BAR with suppression like a rifle and he gives suppression bonuses along with a speed bonus, maybe not a full point but a half point, you could also add a a capture rate bonus or sight bonus, a detection bonus to rifles and rangers would be really helpful especially vs paks and storm troopers.
hmm, so let's see, the LT gives 25% more accuracy on vet 0 and accuracy, reload and cool down on vet 2
captain is rcvd suppression dmg and regen. at vet 0 and 2
so if you want this guy to be an assault buddy, giving him a bar + added suppression resistant and given for all weapons in auro (would include, rifles, bars, smg's, hmgs, mortar's) plus maybe a smoke barrage or like you said binoc's which im not sure how useful it would be. I think that'd work. Maybe the bar has a shorter cooldown than a standard rifle bar and give him a sticky with extra range lol j/k.
Anywho. this is how i might do it (will it be 0/1 or more in terms of availability though, i'll assumre 0/1 ftm.
Radius 25/30?
Vet 0
+10% suppression resist.
+10% added suppression
+0.5 footspeed (LT is 1)
Vet 2
+5% both
-10% incoming accuracy
something like that would fit into what you're looking for.
ooh...or a jeep like you had in that picture, now that would be interesting. I think Botb has something like that for the airborne tree.
no BAR for officer... needs to be a tommy gun... |

He probably won't give suppression resistance, we were thinking along the lines of reduced damage received, so he just makes your inf a little tougher. Throw down a smoke barrage if you want suppression resistance/reduced incoming accuracy.

why the fuck does elite infantry which have fire-up need suppression resistance? rangers are too strong (too low vet requirements) anyways.
what does wehr officer give? supervise?..
i mean the us officer is a cool idea but a bit strange with such abilities, isnt he?
you gotta stop with that, rangers are 330-220 munitions they should be strong or they won't be worth their price. everything that isn't inferior to wehrmacht is op according to you. but anyway this is officer discussion. It should probably get a thompson or a colt with a mortar barrage or something. |

Rather than a radius of support from the officer, he should attach himself to 1 squad like LT but then only help that one squad.
Having an area of support that he helps all soldiers just encourages people to blob.

The only reason people blob is because it takes less micro then telling each individual squad to spread out and take cover (Which is much more effective then blobbing into an MG42) But the brits are really forced to blob if they want to get the most out of LTs
