M10
« on: March 08, 2010, 05:32:37 am »

Hi, I've been playing as US some lately and I love M10s so I have a lot of them. However, there is a little bit of a problem - you guys recently applied a change to them to fix the misfire bug, except it didn't fix it at all and just makes using the M10 a lot more weird. I would recommend actually fixing it or at least reverting it to its previous state because right now neither camp can be pleased (graphics vs. gameplay, both got screwed).

huh? I have 8 m10s on my account and they almost never missfire, maybe 1 of 10 shots.

As fara s I can tell, the fix seems to have worked well. Used to see misfires all the time pre-fix, now I hardly see any. It looks a bit wonky, but I got used to it pretty fast.

I prefer the 'fixed' M10, it may look slightly weird but at least it is a reliable anti-tank counter that can actually get its shot off before it blows up now instead of misfiring like hell and not taking anything out with it like it used to be.

Too me it actually looks even better : it gives the feeling that the shell is actually fired at a super-sonic speed.

I have 7 M10s in my company and have played four matches. I have an average misfire rate of 1 in 5 shots - before this 'fix' was applied I had a misfire rate of about 1 in 5 shots...

To me it does not feel like anything has changed.

You have 28 posts as of this time, so I'm guessing you're a new player?  The M10 fix has been in since I believe the last two patches... so you're saying the last 4 games you don't notice a difference because you're playing games after the M10 has been fixed?

Before the M10 misfire was horrible, hence why everyone before the wipe was taking the all-mighty M18 (before that was subsequently nerfed via vet) because you could reliably get shots off with that thing.  With the M10 and M18 being crap (prior to fix of the misfire for M10), the US only had one tank that was worth anything and that's the Sherman (excluding doctrine units).

The M10 is a much smoother tank and I'm with Mysthalin, firing those super sonic shells does look cool! The old M10 reminded me of those musket-loaded guns with a puff a smoke and nothing coming out, how maddening!  And now you can micro it and circle strafe units without it failing so much.

Been playing for about 4 weeks, you're completely overlooking the fact MISFIRE BUG HAS EXISTED SINCE COH WAS RELEASED IN 2007. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME BEING NEW.

Just throwing that out there.

oh ha

anyway, you may be over-microing it, it still misfires but not as much as before. Trust us those that have been playing this mod for years (2 for me) this m-10 is highly welcome, even if it is a lil weird.

It's definitely misfiring less now.

Can we please just get it fixed so that it completely fixes misfires? After a couple of shots the animation is already completely desynced anyways, this would just make it happen right away but it would be so very worth it for 0 misfires.

you can't because all anti tank weapons misfire.

no they don't... we were even offered to vote upon 100% removal, so it's obviously possible.

Last game my M10 got killed by a Hetzer because it misfired twice in a row, this is really killing me.

I do agree it either needs to be fixed 100% or not at all...halfway is just silly.

No, it was offered to fix it so it wouldn't chronically misfire but trust, all anti-tank weapons misfire. Bazooka,s Schrecks, AT Guns, paks, piats, and all projectiles fired from tanks, even m8's misfire, there's nothing to fix it.

Uh, no they don't Been playing since 2007, only M10s misfire. Some stuff kind of fizzes out when shit moves out of range but if it were to move back in range it would be able to fire again, instead of reloading. M10 misfire has nothing to do with that, it has to do with if you give it any orders around its firing time then it won't shoot, which is a big deal because I need to move it around a lot to keep it from taking too many hits.
