Basically, I've had a ponder about why StuH's and various allied HE rounds and arty can sometimes be total junk.

So I've come up with a little theory. Rounds that roll a hit will have any unit in the radius have to roll an accuracy check to see if they get hit, ala, a Tiger gibbing half a Riflemen squad if they are all standing in the splash range.

However rounds that do not roll actual hits, have the splash become affected by physics. For example if an object is in the way of the unit such as a sandbag in front of an 88... The sandbag takes the splash rather than the 88.

So, because HE rounds and StuH's do not roll hits, their rounds become affected by physics. This would mean terrain or objects in the environment would obstruct the splash which would have turned your infantry chunky. This also shows in StuH rounds landing in the middle of a squad and doing nothing, likely because of uneven terrain or an object at the epicentre of the blast.

Anybody care to prove/disprove this theory? I've no clue how I'd go about proving it myself lol.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

not a bad theory. But this needs answer.

If the targeted Shell fails at hitting infantry how come untargetted does not? (attackground vs attack)

well yes its true stuh rounds collide with the environment while weapons that roll a hit won't collide

but the reason why the stuh sometimes won't even do anything when exploding right on a squad is because the splash calculates a hit/miss for each entity separately.

attack grounding won't make the chance the aoe rolls a hit bigger, but when you autotarget a squad the stuh can target a squadmember who is standing all the way on the left, instead of targeting the squads center.

To test the environment splash theory just put hedge down and some infantry behind it.

Set stuh splash range to insane levels and remove the damage/acc reduction from being in green cover.

If the squad takes damage from a shot that hit the hedge then you know the theory is false. If the squad didn't take damage then the theory is true.

You can hit infantry with an attack through hedges with tanks and STuH/LEiG.

So yea.

its why the stummel sucks now and was so rape then. accuracy should be over 100% for all weapons like that but have high scatter.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.
