my computer keeps overheating causing me to have to reboot anytime I play a game. Its driving me crazy. Granted I live in Florida where it is seriously hot at the moment, but I figured with 6 fans in the computer and 2 more on the video card it would be sufficient. Anyone have any suggestions? My case is currently closed up, not sure if that matters.

Take a side off, and point a highpowered fan directly into your pc.

Use BearGryll's © PissLite™ cooling technology.
PM me if you're unaware on how to utilise this technology.

The first 2 response posts although sounding like troll answers actually do work very well. I have a big box fan site literally right up next to my tower and sucked all the hot hair out. Works pretty darn well.
A more serious answer. Having a closed case though does build up a lot of heat. Having it opened a lot requires a little dust cleaning from time to time, but that's never too hard unless your lazy.

Stick it all in a College mini fridge.
Drill holes in the back so you can get the cords to come out.

Is it the video card or the cpu that is the first thing you need to find out...

Pour water on it when it gets too hot to cool it down, computers are like dogs, they just need to be cooled down with some water and they run faster.

Make sure the heatsinks are not filled with dust.

Yeah, your putty on the heat-sink may be rubbed off. I know mine is, it was so bad that it was stuck to my cpu.
but yeah, I have a big box fan as well, it works wonders. I forgot to turn it on when I got home and got reset as well so i know the feeling!

I had an Nvidia card that overheated whenever running graphics intense games. I could keep the side panel off and keep a fan blowing on it all I wanted, but eventually it just shit itself to death and I had to buy a new card (went with an ATI equivalent. Works extremely well). I looked the card up online to see reviews and apparently the problem was quite widespread and had affilicted the vast majority of the other people that used that particular bit of hardware. My point being... Maybe your hardware just plain sucks and needs a replacement
