I’m not really sure how to approach this issue, short of being totally honest in my stated opinion. First, I’d have to say I love this mod it’s made the C.O.H. game so enjoyable for me, and I appreciate all the effort the creator/creators have put into attempting to balance the game between the killers and a noobs.

Now to my point, I’m saddened by the fact it’s so difficult to get a game going. I know this isn’t the case for a lot of the regular players, most of them being killers. But for poor players like myself and others, it can be difficult to find people who are willing to play with me.

I’m a old fat man, and have forgot exactly what it is to be young and full of vinegar. I understand people wanting only to play with their friends. I can also understand peoples desire to WIN and in that desire choosing quality allies. Unfortunately that leads to stacked games Killers vs. Noobs.

I don’t think there’s anyway to truly balance a game so that all have fun, as far as manipulating the game settings. My belief is the only true way to balance things is by the players themselves. Ok. So I’m a old dude and with age comes wisdom or so they say. Having been a host of multi-player games in medieval 2, I personally always tried to take the least advantageous side of the field, and would always play with the new “poor” players. I did this to try to bring balance to the game and make it fun for everybody.

I now appeal to the Killers in this game, that they may step up and show their gallantry and nobility by playing on the teams of those of us who just don’t play so good but still want to participate without getting brutalized every game we play. I appeal to the regular players to help bring some balance to the game so that all can truly enjoy this wonderful mod.

The whole reason the ranking is put in is to prevent this. It's also good to find other noobs so you can have noob vs noob games which will help each other learn. There also used to be a mentoring program where good players would take new players under their wings that would be a good way to do some 2v2s or 3v3s. Plus post on the forums and be on vent, the more familiar you are to people the more likely they are to play with you =)

I've played with Thompson under some nick named Fatmanblue I think, and he's being too hard on himself. He's not that awful, he like the other more casual players just need a bit of babying & nursing to shine. When I see you online the next time I'll make sure to invite you to a game, FMB.

The only way to sort out even teams is to try yourself against different people and you will soon find a group or a known number of "names" which you can safely  play with without feeling groped afterwards

Also, I'm not sure I have seen you on Ventrillo, but it is very hard to get a game if you are not on the voice chat.  You do not need a mic to be here, but most people will usually want to be able to communicate in game with quick commands instead of typing.

I played an enjoyable game with FatManBlue a ways back.  He was on vent and definatly a good communicator and teamplayer.  Id definatly play another game with ya, though i cant guaranty a win, we can sure as hell try.

Also, anybody who has been around long enough to know generally how good different players are should warn new people if they are getting into a noob stomp, they should also try to evenate games they join.
