hey i have a problem about the new repair thingy and the fact that engineers cannot repair tanks... i had a vet 2 stug, not hard to make if ur a good player but for me takes a little while, it was damage and decided i wanted to take it off the map...it hit a mine and got immobilized, now i couldn't repair it or take it off so the thing was lost before i could have at least pulled it off if i could have used the engineers to rpr it.

i am rather pissed about this. wat was the reason of doing this anyway?

The reason for the new repair system(and a rather good one) was that people would keep recycling their tanks.
Imagine fighting 3 armor players, each with 2 pershings. They rush you with 2 pershings, run away at 5 hp, you're cackling evilly. Then, 5 minutes later, the SAME two pershings come back. You somehow manage to put them to 5 hp again. They come back again. And again, and again. PIAT and engie blobs were quite aplenty to allow that to happen.

It's a good new repair system - it adds a new sense of risk with tanks - you have used your repair kit, you won't be able to come back if shit hits the fan, and you won't be able to save your vet if the tank gets immobilised... It's really fun ^^.

I personaly LOVE the new repair system - even if you get to pull out tanks with a destroyed engine, it's realistic and fun, and only adds a whole new layer to the game.

To end my post, I will say - if you can't handle loosing veterancy, don't bring it on the field Wink.

The only thing I really don't like about the new repair system (I really do like it I just don't like one thing about it) IS that fact that allied and axis heavy tanks pretty much get to live twice, considering repairing only takes a couple minutes  heavy tanks are able to crawl away and go quickly repair which can be rather frustrating to fight that same heavy tank twice in the same game  Undecided

i do but atm i only have 1 on my panther.

it was just anoying as it was just bad luck, i was hoping to get it back through that system thingy but did not come back, how deos it work anyway.

just the fact that it was stuck for wat was about 15min not able to move or face the enamy and a set of pios who could have at least rpr the tracks so i could take it off, we had pritty much lost the fight already.

and for the other posts, wat about my situation... it just becomes a problem though i should have had 1 on the stug as well.

I agree with above Mysth.

Last game I was in we killed a vet 2 pershing because after an attack we counter attacked and caught it in the middle of a repair kit.

I lost a vet 3 ac because it hit two mines and couldn't repair the second time, but hey, it's war, veterans die.

It would be cool if engineers could fix broken treads EVER SO SLOWLY. But still able to.

But not fix engine damage. They carry spare treads on the tank normally.

They could give a clickable ability on tanks that instantly puts their max health to 5 but fixes their critical damage. Last resort to save ur vet, but you wouldn't use it too often Tongue.

No way giving engineers repair back, in one of the last games, my mate managed to double-sticky the Hetzer... lololol, it was so painful - it wasted its Repair Kit before so it just sit there.. alone.. for about half the game... eating 10 pop... haha Cheesy

My in-game name is MysthalinTLS, rather different from the forum one, so it's no surprise you forgot it Tongue.

Mind you, even in the old system if it gets immobilised (assuming this probably happens on low hp levels) it would probably get killed before you get to repair the tracks anyway.

Buy a repair kit, they're considerably cheap.
Especially if it's a vet unit you care about.

The problem is when > you use the stug, it gets some damage > repair kit > you use it again a bit more, it gets again damaged > you hit a mine on your way back to the spawn and you are fucked.
