So wait, how does that bring it in line with SMG rangers getting 4 guns + 2 zooks?
PE upgrades all give 2 per other than the schrek, but we have a great many other AT options (ATHT, Marder) as well.
Axis has always been about force on field, but with a shorter staying ability (Aka, you get hit by a good mortar round, let alone a howi or anything else, and that dual LMG/schrek squad is gone).
Wehr wasn't overpowered or anything, no more than Ami or Brit.
At least you guys get support weapons.
So to bring the Factions even more in line, can we drop the HMG suppression down to the same as the IHTs, and maybe reduce all mortar range to 60, the same as the MHT.

except all factions except wehr has direct tank disabling abilities
. Americans have stickies, Brits have button, PE has treadbreaker. Those abilities prevent their respective ATGs from being circled to death.
Also two piats at short range is just as good as two shreks. RR performance is extremely varied. It ranges from obscenely good vs units like the tiger and halftracks, to pretty bad vs units like the puma. In the first case one RR=one shrek, in the second case its more like two for one.

There is no reason to look at how the units all work together when doing balance, just compare them vs their counterpart on a 1 for 1 basis (lolz)

Indeed. If LMGs could button or fausts gave engine damage then the shrek nerf for wehr would be justified.
As it stands there is no way wehr can stop allied armor from circling their paks and laughing off the one shrek gren trying to whittle its health down.
All
other factions can stop their main ATG from being circled. When was the last time someone tried to circle a 6 pounder guarded by a bren squad? Or a 57mm guarded by a rifle squad? Or a marder guarded by an ATHT?

Maybe the faust should be given the Sticky Bomb crit table. You know, to bring it in line with the other factions.

Well technically like I said.. the Faust is now doing 100-125dmg for 2 uses for 50mu? It's nearly like a replacement shreck.

and storms cant get double shrecks!

last time i tried to kill a cromwell, it took 3 rear armor shots from cloaked pak, 1gren frontal shrek and
5 storm rear shreck shots.....
and all the damn munitions to repair vehicles now limits harshly the small arms combat effectiveness.
too much variablility makes it near impossibe to balance properly...
and it doesnt help people are always bitching about nerfing something axis, since relics original vcoh.

Infantry Doctrine vet 1 60mm Mortar is uber, not only does it do more damage per hit, but it fires faster and has longer range than the 81mm Wehr mortar.

It doesn't do more damage than the 81mm Mortar. On top of that, it has less AoE (iirc) and Axis squads are smaller with more health so the damage isn't multiplied by as much. I don't think the faster RoF is enough to make it's DPS higher than the Axis 81mm Mortar.
