wow, i can't believe you guys thought he was talking about Rocket Arty. He's talking about registered arty in vCoh where when you try and capture a sector, the other side can choose to drop a mortar barrage on that point you're trying to capture. The computer uses it very well on expert lol.

and its not exactly insant, you still get the red smoke but its a short time from smoke to drop

It drops around as fast as Officer Barrage, you can use it on a tank trap too in VCoH

I like the idea of dropping it to a friendly territory however it lifts questions. If it only works on friendly territory....how can it be a gurantee that it works? Usually when enemy is on your territory they cap it. In very rare occasions the territory of yours will stay under your control if the enemy advances forward if ya guys know what I mean.

I don't think it is THAT good idea...since Officer already can drop it

its a little too powerful for T2 offmap so im gonna have to disagree. especially since u can use MI and insta kill calliopes with it

Yes.
It'd fit Defensive so well (both their role in EiR and how they are in vCoH), give them some much needed flavor, and most importantly, replace a shitty T2 (I'm looking at you, Fatherland Fortification).

Lots of docs get arty in both T2 and T3, and with Reg Arty's limitations (only in friendly territory, smoke, only good against inf) I don't really see this as being any sort of problem.

lulz. It's basically anti infantry sector arty. Maybe you can have it auto triggered when infantry are capping an area and it turns neutral. of course you have to trigger it.

Registered arty is far too powerful for the EIR environment.  It comes down almost instantly and rapes everything within a huge radius.  Even tanks will take plenty of damage.

The way you avoid it in vCoH is simply retreating, but you can't do that here.

That sounds like Captain Artillery.

Captain arty has the same drop time as the officer mortar barrage.   Its only difficult to dodge due to the suppression.

Registered arty drops the first shell at the same time as the smoke, there is like a 1 second warning at best.
