People pay munitions for this upgrade. But when the gunner dies, especially early on, then the upgrade is wasted until the tank is FULLY repaired.

This is the only upgrade in the game which can be lost and be unusable while the parent unit is still alive or crewed.

Suggest setting turret gunner killed critical to 0%.

i dont see anything wrong with gunners being killed, hey a gunner can sacrifice himself infornt of a sticky so the engine doesnt get damaged you know  Cheesy.

i think the problem is the fact that you have to repair your vehicle to 100% before you get your gunner back. i think he should return as long as the vehicle gets healed to 75%. Also I think it's because i see the .50 cal gunner used more often, but seems to get killed more then the mg42 gunner. but i think its simply because of the .50s use.

I think the OP has got a point here. Im not saying remove it completely, but it would be nice if the crit couldnt happen untill the tank was in yellow/red HP.

Ive had gunners get blown off the tank in the opening shots of an engagement. It doesnt bother me, but it is a munitions sink that isnt being put to good use.

I've lost a Schreck and still had the last squad member with a rifle (fighting a Pershing was shitty).

Don't really mind this, but I don't always get the machine guns on my tanks. (typically, I get them on tanks without other upgrades)
