I think 75mu is too much for what it does. It doesn't provide a damage increase, it actually lowers your rate of fire, makes the weapon less effective vs infantry and has a higher pre-firing time, which means it takes a longer time than the 75mm gun to fire it's first shot. So you get all these negative affects just for an increase in penetration and you have to pay 75 munitions for it.

I propose lowing it to about 55 muni or 60 muni.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

I would say lower than 50 MU if it doesn't boost damage, as currently my own tanks units lose to rapid fire Marders, 50mm HTs, and maybe even P4s.

The Sherman upgun is like paying a doctor to saw your foot off for big bucks.  You can do it, but why? XD

If the up gun is not worth the munitions...  Why does just about every sherman have the up gun?

Apparently it does something well.  They must want to munitions they'd save for their light armour upgrades Tongue

Those of use that do use the upgun (which means your playing armor, and got the munis to throw at this overpriced upgrade)
is because we dont get anything better, and your sherman will lose to a P4 without it.

I'd be all for the 76mm being lowered to 60Mu (to be 'on par' with Skirts), and then see from there.

I up-gun my shermans because I could be screwing myself if that ends up being the sherman that comes on the field at the same time a PIV comes on.  It doesn't do that much worse vs infantry (still gibs inf) and I would rather be safe than sorry against heavier vehicles.  Plus, 2 up-gunned shermans can gangbang an unsuspecting panther or tiger, but if one of them were to be without the upgun, then they wouldn't do as much damage.

So the up gun really is worth the munitions to you then?

Yes.

If there's 1 thing I've learned from using Shermans (besides that you need to constantly kite) it's that every shot counts.  If you shoot a PIV, you want ALL of your shots to penetrate.  If it doesn't penetrate, then you are going to be put very far back in a tank-on-tank battle.

I rarely use them, a  lot of allied players maybe have one or two with up-guns. If I use them its cuz i have extra muni and have nothing else to really use the munis on, other wise i'd rather get say, smgs for my rangers or mines, or ap shots for my hmgs and at guns, or grenades for my rifles, or a triage center etc etc...

up gun isnt that great... i dont use it... its basically giving you a 15-20 per penetration upgrade.. thats kinda steep for mun cost imho... now, if it made it say, like a m10 gun, then ya, i would buy it..

just another one of relics fubs.

I never use Shermans to kill PIV's unless I have to, or to finish them off, that is if i use them at all. When I get reapers, I tend to get rid of tanks, maybe have one or two, one sherman, one croc just to deal with elite infantry, other wise I go infantry and support weapons.

It's basically a 50% penetration increase across the board but the negative affects don't make it worth it. Its the only upgrade in the whole game that gives you negative affects when you buy it.

Thats what im saying.  Obviously it doesnt need a price decrease if its worth it at its current price to buy them.
