Find me a man that can turn invisible, please.
actually they are working on it.
its there to simulate ambushes or what have you, having a small caliber pistol shooting better than a rifle is not a simulation but an exaggeration.

errr, good call sure looks like a 1911 to me! never the less at mid range .45 is quite weak. 20 yards youd be lucky to kill someone much less actually hit them. So says my ole man who used one in nam. But ofcorse why use a .45 when you have an m79...

def officer get weapon upgrades with vet.
he doesn't.
And even if he did, the MP40 is a downgrade compared to the luger, which is why the "upgrade" was removed.
Quote
LT's and captains can pick up weapons.
the ami of ficers can't
neither can def officer.
Your post kind of means this : Hey, it's alright that the ami officer's gun is OP - he can't pick up another(why would he?)!
The problem you're not seeing is the fact he can crit out full squads faster than 3 SMG rangers at point blank range :S.

I'm still not seeing any replays for all those wild claims of officers slaughter two squads at the same time.

I'd provide you one, but I'm too much of a vetwhore to charge my vets at a US officer, knowing the outcome

I have found out why the hell the US officer kills everything all the time.
It has these critical modifiers at green health :
Make casualty - 10
No critical - 65
Bullet Hit critical - 15
Soldier Killed - 10
Anyone shot at yellow health only has a 30 percent chance of survival the terrible wrath of the officer.
Meaning, it's an actual 35 percent chance to kill any unit the bullet hits, which is why the pistol is so superior.
Oh, and he does 3x damage to snipers(21 total), 2.25(15.75 total) to infantry_airborne, infantry_rifleman_elite, infantry_soldier, infantry_heroic armor classes.
The critical tables on the Wehr Luger are the same, however....
The Luger on the wehr officer and the pak boys fires every 1.5 seconds, on average.
This one fires every 0.75 seconds, on average, with double the long range accuracy.
Which is why it kills 4 times more than an officer ;P.

Tell that to my ranger squad that lost 3 guys when he suddenly popped out of stealth with his vet 1 status! Heh.

Yeah the difference is, the pak guy has a correct crit rate afaik, the US officer is way over the limit.
So yes, unlucky rolls, everyone knows that it happens, but it doesn't happen everytime in contrast to the US officer.

The range and criticals are the same.
The accuracy at long range, however is double that of a luger, however. The ROFs also differ rather extremely :
US officer - 0.5-1
WM luger - 1.4-1.7
